Thats direct from Hallrose, who works on sky sports news. And would it really be worth sending out Mann and Walsh to Lyon when they are only going to be used in 5 minutes of highlights? Probably not.

Drury did Man Utd last night, Rawling a Athletico V Chelsea. The annoying buzz (bbc ars v liv carling cup game) returned for about 15 seconds when showing a clip whilst the studio was talking- must be a technical thing

Robbie Earle, Steve Rider, Paul Hawksbee and Alan Brazil have all called the Europa League the Europa CUP today. I know it's an incredibly minor point but you would hope they know the actual name of the competition by now. You'd never hear the FA Cup called the FA League, or the Premier League called the Premier Cup. Getting its name wrong adds to how much the broadcasters (particularly those that don't cover the comp) devalue the competition.

Realistically, there are now only theoretical chances of anything riding on any of the British Club's remaining group stage CL games... bad news for ITV in particular.

Rangers would have to win in Seville because of the head to head against Uneria. Chelsea and Man United are through, whilst Arsenal are through barring all but a mathmatical miracle. Liverpool are pretty much out.

I didn't see the Liverpool game on ITV last night but noticed on Sky that a UEFA graphic was on screen for Babel's goal (and nearly for the Lyon goal). Was it the same on ITV?

A bit off topic I know, but why wasn’t Liverpools shirts last night displaying their sponsor. At first thought was due to it being Carlsberg and CL main sponsor being Heineken but then when flicked over to Rangers they were carrying Carling. Also thinking back they were allowed it in Florence so is it something to do with the French regulations. Like say sorry its off topic but just intrigued and thought with the wealth of knowledge on this forum someone would know. Cheers.

Hmm.. I suppose, it wouldn't of been bad sending them their, they would of been heard on international feeds live and there is the half hour highlights you get on sky with all the games.. (usually on the days b4 a UCL Matchday at night)

To my other question. Any idea if Crocker and Burley for STV Where in France or tucked away in Pacific Quay?

Throw Bayern in the Mix too... as well as a few decent teams dropping out or already in the Europa League...

I know the Europa League has had big publicity by UEFA but why do ITV and FIVE, Have to use the official graphics all the time and then you have ITV and SKY who don't for the Champions league coverage...

ITV's highlights coverage with the graphics is weird too... for Wednesday's games they have the offical main score bar everytime their is a goal but for tuesday's games they have itv sport generic main score bar at the end with the full time score

I wonder If STV's Comms Ian Crocker and Craig Burley are on-site or off tube?

It may just have been because Daniel Mann was covering for Ian Darke who's in Nuremberg doing the boxing. As Mann also worked on the Juventus game on Tuesday night it may have just been seen as easier for him not to travel and do it off-tube

I still don't think we have heard Jon Champion on ITV since he moved to ESPN. Are we sure he is going to the World Cup with ITV next summer?

I don't think he's been heard live (I could be wrong, though).

He's been heard on Europa League highlights shows, but those commentaries have been the ones he's done live for ESPN.

I'm guessing that even if he does still work for ITV, he'll be absent from the FA Cup highlights (in the first two rounds at least) due to live games on ESPN.

The UEFA graphics that appear at the bottom of the screen are put on by the match director at the ground so yes ITV's feed would have been the same. The ITV pres director then adds their own match ident in the top corner
