You sure? I'd have thought Top Gear would clash with the X Factor results show?

i presumed the question was in relation to those programmes clashing with Doctor Who, which they don't. I really have no idea about the other programmes since I never watch any of them...

It should be a good night: Doctor Who, followed later by Top Gear. Perfect!

Don't get me wrong, It'll be a cold day in hell before I watch the X Factor, so it doesn't bother me either

Luckily for you Top Gear is repeated. Could be averted if ITV move X Factor to the earlier slot (to make way for I'm a Celeb?) but then Doctor Who would clash with X Factor instead, and I'm a Celeb with Top Gear.

They just showed a new trailer before Jonathon Ross, it was quite short (maybe 20 seconds?) with lots of quick flashes of clips from the episodes along with some random words. It was really chilling actually!

In a bizarre twist, the Doctor will end up in the Mars bar factory.

I guessing that if the doctor had not shown up and offered a helping hand that the infected people would have broken in to the bass and pretty much destroyed everything in sight which would have lead to the Bowie base going up like a nuclear bomb.

I reckon we we will see this happen, although to me it looks like they try and escape in a rocket ship that explode, because The Doctor won't help them, but he then changes his mind for some reason and goes back in time to save some of the crew, hence breaking what was a fixed point in time, leading to the start of his personal downfall...I'll wager in the original timeline the doctor himself may have set the ship to explode. Remember we have been told we will see the Doctor acting in a way that is out of character for him.

I forgotten about the doctor acting out of character for himself. Also if you look at the footage from the longer one which was shown on Wednesday we do see him outside as the Rocket exploding maybe he set the charges for both the base and the rocket to keep them there.

Also the idea of changing a fixed point in time is also a good idea which draws the Time Lords out to hunt him down which could (not saying it is or isn't) lead to a very second doctorish ending for the doctor himself (not saying enforced regeneration but a trial ect)
