Humax 9150 recording problems

Hiya guys, new here so bare with me please

Had my Humax PVR for about a year now, not had one problem, but last few days i've noticed a couple of problems, firstly, it freezes the remote wont work and i have to power down and power on again to get it to work, secondly, when i go to the guide, press ok on a programme to set it to record, the it sets and appears in my recording schedule, but doesnt record, i have to manually press record whilst the programme is on, even though it's still in the recording schedule after the time as passed????

3rdly, this isn't a biggy, but i've lost my instructions and from day 1 i havent been able to series record, how do i do this?

If anyone can help i would be greatful, thanks

When you select a programme from the EPG that has Series-Link associated with it (darker blue colour) you will get a message asking if you want to record the whole series or not. You can download a manual from the Humax web site.

Something wrong here.

Try a reset to Default Settings.

Make sure you're using the latest software, Menu > System > Status and check the details against the Humax web site. Do a Default Setting then check if you've got any channels in the 800 range (apart from CH5 re-tune screen at 800) , post back for manual search instructions if you have.

The manual doesn't seem to be on the UK web site so go to the global web site.

right, i've been a complete noob, i do actually get some programmes that are in darker blue boxes, but when i click to record them, i get no series link options, it just marks the programme with the red i

I have the latest software according to the Humax website, tbh its not that thats bothering me, its the not recording when i click ok on the programme from the EPG, ive got a lot set today and so far i've had to press record manually on 2, it's actually stopping me going out to do what i need to do

Have you got the recording start and end time set to anything other than "on time" (in the Record Menu)?
Any setting other than on time will disable series link.

It sounds like you've got global padding set to something different to On Time, Menu > Record > Recording's start Time/End Time. You need to download that manual and do a Default setting as we've suggested.

This implies they were in the wrong places before.

As has already been suggested, check you don't have any channels in the 800 range, or you will have problems with the EPG and Accurate Recording.

If you do, post back for more instructions.

Rgds.

Just adding this comment out of interest really, as it's related to the OP - today my 9150T randomly decided not to process any scheduled recordings (all of which had Series Link). We only spotted it in the evening as there were "hanging" entries in the schedule. Further scheduled recordings also failed to start, although a manual recording worked. Anyway, I fixed it just by switching the unit off (having a switch on the back is really useful!) and on again, whereupon the hanging entries disappeared to be replaced by the next programme in the series and scheduled recordings started working again. I've no idea what caused it - the box normally stays on all day and is put into standby overnight between 0100 (or earlier if I remember when I go to bed) and 0700.

I don't remember if it was discussed in the other thread where you raised other issues with your 9150T; do you have any channels in the 800 range indicating you may be receiving signals from more than one transmitter?

No, I don't (I used to have the Five retune message at 800 but that has now gone). I can only receive the six muxes from Crystal Palace. Thanks for your interest Colin!
