Can somebody who is watching it PLEASE start a BBC3 Pace thread (I'm not as I am trying to stick with BBC1).
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE There are spoilers creeping through in this thread which is unfair as there is no warning. At the moment it's okay but I'll be very annoyed if a major one gets out. |

Not sure I'm liking this season.. I fear it's getting to the stage where they're running out of storylines. Another Ros hostage episode?!
Hmm. Some parts of episodes just seem so unlikely. I mean an MI5 agent slips you a room key and indicates a girl will be waiting there and he isn't suspicious?! Will give it a chance. I did enjoy the episode and I like spooks, but I just hope it doesn't lose it's edge. |

I'm with you on that one... haven't got into this series at all so far, whereas I've enjoyed the previous series immensely. May well be that it's time to call it a day and go out on a high (though that may already have been last season...)

A good point, well made.
I enjoyed it tonight - it was quite a typical Spooks episode, whereas the first episode didn't quite gel for me. It's nice to see Robert Glenister being given a prominent role, he captures the conniving ruthlessness of a senior politician very well. Oh, I miss Malcolm too, but the new kid on the block seems streets ahead of whatshisname who got offed by Connie last year (that really was a mercy killing). |

I enjoyed this episode, a marked improvement on the first and a lot closer to what I've come to expect from Spooks.
I thought it was a very balanced episode, giving enough breathing room to introduce this new technician character (Tareq I think) and allowing for the often overlooked Jo to really get a good seat in the action. Ros was as great as usual and I'm liking Lucas more and more with each episode. This newcomer Sarah Caulfield certainly looks intriquing, and while I was never a fan of some romances in the show (Adam's series five daliance with Martha Jones' sister) I think this could have some fuel behind it considering the tension between the two nations. Nice to see Ruth back soon, I really thought they'd keep her out of the picture for an episode or two before getting her warmed back up toward Harry, but I don't think her appearances and the first steps toward getting her back on the grid seemed rushed. Liking the rest of the cast too. I'm looking forward to the next episode and while I agree certain scenarios have been done before, I don't think another hostage situation is a bad thing. Ros is one of the strongest characters on the show and always works best in those kind of situations so it should make for entertaining viewing. Plus, this one looks like it'll be particularly gruelling, unlike the half comical lead in to the Saudi Embassy one back series five. |

Sorry it this has already been commented on, but....
The picture at the end for the Spooks cast... Lucas, Ros and Harry where there. It had Tariq in there, it had Ruth in there - but no Jo.... Did anyone else spot that? Does that mean Jo's about to be killed off the the BBC just put the wrong image out? |

Didn't Ros instruct him to "get close to her" in Ep. 1?

After rewatching the episode, I still don't buy the lucas/ sarah relationship. Think there both using each other.
