Good news from GU4.

I've just spoken to "Debbie" in India. She "sent a signal down the line", told me to disconnect and reconnect after 30 seconds and, hey presto, a/v breakup has disappeared.

Not sure how long it will last....

BTW she told me I was the 1st person to report this fault.

I have posted the full contents of this thread so far on the newsgroup and asked for the Network team to get on and sort this. Let's see where this gets us!

I don't know why they bother with the Indian call centre. They might as well have a recorded message saying "La, la, la, I've got my fingers in my ears and I'm not listening to anything you say"!

Also good news from Guildford. Had a call back (finally!) from their second-level support team tonight.

The (helpful) representative I spoke to took a look at this forum and agreed to get it sorted. Have just checked C4HD and it now seems fine - no reboot needed. Let's hope it lasts!

Thanks to everyone for calling VM and posting here.

Blimey - that is a relief. Better cancel my engineer visit.

Strangely the newsgroup person replied to your post as if they had heard of the problem all along when every time any of us rang they had never heard of it

Yep, GU14 is fine too. Will cancel the engineer due on Monday tomorrow..........

There seems to be power in numbers here, but special thanks to fraxis2009 who got the result when he posted the problems to that newsgroup.

Cheers to him and everybody else

If anybody is signed up over there they could link this thread.
It was me who posted the thread at CF. I had only noticed the problem on FXHD so I didn't spot this thread here as I was looking for a thread title referring to that channel.

Glad to know the problem seems to have been fixed. Even though I don't have an HDTV I usually watch Life on Mars on FXHD as FX don't broadcast in widescreen.

We are having awful problems with FXHD recordings. We can watch it live with no problems, if we watch it as a recording the PQ is awful (pixellation) and dropped sound.

Any ideas what the issue can be?
