I find straight away that the menu is a little slower than the original but not much.
Oops the front panel indicator keeps coming back on, when you play anytime, or live pause and also the play indicator goes out if you turn it off again.

So how are you all getting on with the new EPG.

Since I got it, I now have the following problems..
  • EPG now sluggish. Once you enter a channel number, it takes a second or two before the channel changes.
  • Red Button access does not work over RF2 + magic eye
  • The time on the FF/REV graphic is slow to update
  • Sound level is lower - volume adjustment has been removed
  • When watching back a recorded programme, the screen blacks out for a few secs, audio carries on. Noticed this on programmes recorded on BBC1 & Five

Before updated EPG, I had no problems....

Sluggish but I'm use to it now, very nice to look at & I love the mini-tv within the epg.

Have noticed that it can be slow to change channels at times and the time on FF/REW does take time to update itself sometimes but it's not going to change now (Perhaps they need viewer feedback and can iron out any bugs in the next update) They need to fix the famous spelling mistake as noted earlier in this thread too.

Seems okay to me. No failed recordings. I'm still getting the 'playback freezes for several seconds while progress indicator spins' on some recordings though so that's not fixed. But overall it's fine.

I have just 5 minutes ago received an email from sky saying that the new Sky+ HD guide will be with me shorly. I have an Amstrad box, not sure of model number but had it nearly a year. I suspect that there's a good chance that they'll get the new EPG to everyone before Christmas.

Am I likely to get it today (I didn't turn it on this morning so wouldn't know if it upgraded overnight), tomorrow or next week?

Does anybody have any more experience of single feed mode with the new EPG (see my earlier post 1575)?

Couldn't agree more with all these points.
Personnaly the new EPG is aesthetically pleasing - but that is about it. I've watched one programme on ITV HD only. The box was perfect before - it is now the most frustraing thing under the telly! Not impressed. Rant over.

Got my leaflet in the post about the new EPG on Saturday. So I've had the leaflet and the email, hopefully it will download this week. Looking forward to seeing how it runs on an Amstrad box. It has been pretty reliable with the old EPG (except having to do a planner rebuild ocasionally when nothing appears in the listings - maybe something to do with only having single feed). Have other Amstrad owners got the leaflet/email?

Perhaps you would be better asking in a thread related to Amstrad boxes...

If you have been following this thread from the start, as I have, you will have seen that, despite the title, there have been plenty of Amstrad owners contributing, and plenty of discussion about Amstrad boxes, hence my post here.

Yes, but with all Samsung boxes now having the EPG, most people will probably ignore this thread.

If you want a better chance of an answer from an Amstrad owner, my advice is don't post in a thread that has SAMSUNG in big letters in its title...
