according to my series link, it's on again Thursday night... Last nights was a good PTI, watched via slingbox, and loads and loads of NFL stuff, clips included... !!!

maybe that's why it wasn't shown in the UK, 80% was nfl related...

Well, yes, thats all well and good, but then its on early every weekday morning anyway.

I think the point is why are ESPN fu*king around with the Primetime scheduling for ATH and PTI, especially for non-live events? Live baseball or hockey, sure, but a recap of the MLB season yesterday and tonight, E:60?

I swear things haven't changed much since it was NASN.

But then again it was also later / early next morning in Europe as well... So perhaps it was on slightly later in the US this week?

College Basketball on this week, can't wait!

Was looking forward to HNIC in HD for the second time but ESPN have changed the schedule so I guess I will have to watch the fighting Irish in HD instead.

Interesting...

Just got ESPN America on in the background waiting for the Maple Leafs match - they were showing some of the Miami / North Carolina game and suddenly the picture fades out followed by the sound - after a few seconds of no picture an apology caption comes up before immediately cutting to adverts.

Good to see College Basketball back - widescreen and the improved picture makes it so much more enjoyable!

So many pages to read through... was wondering if there is any news of espn america ( 430 ) becoming HD ?

I have just watched ice hockey on espn hd ( 442 ) and the picture quality was AMAZING

I cant edit my post above ... so to add to it...

The reason I ask if espna will ever have an hd channel is because over the next 12 days espn & espna will show 23 live hockey games , 17 of these games on espna , 4 on espn with espn/aspna show another 2 games at the same time.

I think the picture quality on espna is very good but cant touch espn hd on 442.

I am sure there will be an ESPNA HD - not sure when though.

ESPNA have told us to keep our eyes open for other changes in the next few months though - not sure what they will be, but I doubt HD.

ESPN has really pushed HD and has done a good job - to the point where Sky have, I believe, needed to catch up and in some cases are still behind.

If ESPNA HD is to launch then it would have to be economical and not just be taken up in the UK

HD would be nice at some point, but I'm just happy atm to have things like College Hoops in 16:9. Like you I really enjoyed watching the games yesterday with their improved picture quality and am looking forward to the season ahead

The ESPNA improvements have been excellent. Very good quality widescreen picture.

Still waiting to how they will reintroduce the bottomline ticker. According to the press release ESPNA say it will be at selected times rather than 24/7.

Hmm... bit miffed that on one of College Football's biggest days (day after Thanksgiving and it's Rivalry Week) we get two NHL games

Did ESPNA cut away from the Bruins/Devils game to show the Auburn/Alabama game, or did they show the end of the shoot out?

Why did the NBA game not start until halfway thro' the first quarter ? Having to sit through those God awful "Football Funnies" was the worst 15 minutes of my entire week, and that's saying something.

Maybe the previous broadcast in the US over-ran.

I was wondering about that. Have they done it before? It's not as if they're showing one of the other games either and had to source a different feed, because the Caps/Canadiens game is on the national CBC feed tonight, not regional.

I thought it was regional - CBC were also showing the Bruins/Senators game and the Blue Jackets/Flames game at the same time.

Yeah, those were the regional opt-outs, Sens were in the Ottawa Valley, Flames were on in Alberta, and the Caps/Canadiens was the main network feed.

I could understand them having to source the two opt-outs from NHL Network, but the main feed should have been avaiiable direct from the CBC.

Probbaly once college football is over and truthfully when the season really gets going - January onwards. A lot of what has been played so far and just early season tournaments

Can someone tell me if the ESPN you get on Freeview is the "full" channel? The reason I ask if that I looked at the schedule on the ESPN Web site and there seemed to be a lot more NHL games than on the EPG on my Freeview box.

Frankly, NHL is the only reason I would get ESPN - would I be missing out of a substantial chunk if I didn't have the ESPN America channel?
