They can put that up against the 2nd Half of Man City v Arsenal but not Barcelona v Real Madrid up against the Sunday Sunday Post Match -

Not HD tonight I notice.

I have to agree with that aswell and the major thing is that he is not talking over Tyler at all.

I also think Platt's in good form and Alan Smith makes a decent studio analyst. He's brigher than most footballers and is a much better pundit than co-commentator. Tyler still putting in a minor cup commentary - sounds tired.

Does anyone know what picks the BBC have for their semi-finals?

Because, depending on events at Ewood Park, there's a 50:50 chance of either a Manchester Derby, or "big 4" clash. Both would be very attractive.

None of us know. It hasn't been announced who has first pick. It could even be a combination of 1st and 2nd pick. We also don't know if each broadcaster has to pick a tie or just games. We shall just have to wait and see.

I'd imagine it matters more to us because of the different commentators and personnel involved on BBC to Sky

The rumour was that Sky got first pick- we will have to wait and see.

If Cheslea progress and the draw was:

Man City V Chelsea
Man Utd V Aston Villa

Which one would you pick?

Wonder if Sky/BBC can reassess after first leg or whether it a two leg decision beforehand

From the BBC Sport football ticker tonight:

2215: And that's half-time in extra time at Ewood Park. Sam Allardyce, recovering from heart surgery, is apparently at home watching the game on TV.

How???

As things stand, and if the BBC contract is what I think it is, BBC1 look like having both legs of Blackburn vs. Villa.

I think with that result it will be fairly easy for us to see who has 1st pick and who has 2nd.

I've only ever heard Rob Palmer do it. I think Guy Havord also did some 10 years or so ago for Sky though.

I'm fairly certain that he hasn't (certainly not for Sky)

It could be interesting to hear a Tyler/Gray partnership on a big league game outside England but obviously they'll generally be working on the Premier League when foreign games are taking place.
