UKTV Brightideas- improving?

I switched on this morning and to my delight found the 'Antiques Roadshow' on at 9am.
When I looked at the TV Guide I found out that its on weekends at 9am and 5pm with Michael Aspel and weekdays at 9am and 2pm with Hugh Scully.

It seems strange that an Antique show is on Brightideas but its good as it gives the channel more varietly. They should get a few more shows like Ground Force, Bargain Hunt, Flog It etc.

I was wondering the same thing. I also noticed that the Bright ideas is being promoted a lot more on the other UKTV channels recently.

Seems strange to have Michael Aspel on too but then again they must have realised the something had to be done to increase ratings

This website lists all of UKTV Brightideas new programmes for the next two months.

IMO both UKTV channels on Freeview are now improving. It could be that UKTV are now realising how important a platform Freeview could be for them.

I was just about to say the same thing, as UKTV History has been getting better as well (IMO), is it a preperation for more freeview UKTV channels, UKTV Gold maby, but people have been saying that for ages now...

Yup, Great Inventions last week and The Britain Natural History thingy today were very welcome.

I plan to ensure that I write and say how much I appreciate the break from Nazi Germany in the hope they'll continue adding new shows

It seems UKTV are paying a lot more attention to their freeview lineup recently. UKTV is showing a lot fewer WW2 docs as well and showing some really interesting natural history programs.

They would do well to promote stuff like this as best as they are able. I suspect most people, like me, have long since given up looking at the schedules of UKTV Bright Ideas and had I not stumbled upon this thread it might have been some time before I realised that Antiques Roadshow was being shown.

Now if only they could extend UKTV BI's broadcasting hours until 8.00pm, to replace Thomas Cook TV.

It's funny how quickly UKTV turned their freeview channels from crap to good in about a week,
