Anyone on Virgin 20mb in NW area with Ambit modem....

Trying to solve my connection issues (see thread below) and am curious to see if it's just me.....

Could you advise if your internet was fine this morning or whether you woke up to find your Ambit modem ready light flashing?

I had no internet access and couldn't even access the modem using 192.168.100.1 - had to reboot it.

TIA

Ok this morning, but since I've had an Ambit modem it has locked up as you describe at least once a week. I had the previous modem for years and it never ever had a lockup.

I just pull out the power cable, wait two seconds and reinsert. Modem comes back online in 2 to 3 minutes.

VM should have stuck with Moto's TBH.

No doubt cost was the factor.

I refused to use the Ambit, I was sent a Moto SB 5101E by a boss who helps me deal with issues over the years.

I had the original SB 4100 before that but even though its rated for 38MEG there is claims the CPU and QAM are borderline for such speeds so VM recommended a new modem (the interactive site).

I couldn't prove the above as I was getting crap speeds due to Oversubscription in my are, I varied from 0.5MEG to 18MEG.

I remember like 3 users here who also wanted Moto's not wanting Ambit and we all got flamed from the usual suspects.

At the end of the day its got nothing to do with anyone but myself and the VM boss what I was given or reasons why.

Asking if anyone in the Northwest has a flashing ready light is a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack, as they maybe in a different town than yourself and have a completely different issue to yourself.
