I phoned O2 on a different matter and asked if the DNS problems were anywhere near being fixed.

The CS agent told me that they had been told that it was not a DNS issue, it was IIRC a link issue and they had come up with a fix.

First you have to check the DNS Default gateway in the router.

If you wish to give it a go, this is the procedure I followed.

Go to the routers homepage by typing o2wirelessbox.lan into the search box of a web browser.

Then click on Broadband Connection then Internet Services.

Next, go to O2_ADSL2plus and click on View more….

Now click on details which is on the top right under the O2 logo box.
You should have 94.195.152.1 next to the Default Gateway. You will need to reset the router if you don’t have this IP address.

Now you need to open the Command prompt on your computer.

Then type: ping 94.195.152.2 and press the enter button.

I thought as did the CS agent that this would just ping an IP address but it does appear so far to work.

You may need to restart your pc as I couldn’t go on the net or open the router settings until I’d restarted.

If your not able to do this or not sure, please phone O2 who I’m sure will talk you through the process.

I’ve had no ‘page not found' error messages since following this procedure about 30mins ago whereas I would get them a lot when I switched back to O2’s DNS settings.
