Town102 Felixstowe O/B JESUS CHRIST

Did anyone hear the O/B from the switching on of the Felixstowe Christmas lights?

It was shocking the sound was distorted beyond belief the content was just just pointless and it was felixstowe for gods sake.

Yes I can see you are excited about the national launch of UCB - only 50 hours and 42 minutes to go.

Jesus Christ switched on the lights for Felixstowe? Wow, they did really well this year!

Town 102 being live and local and doing an OB and you're moaning about it? Why not send them some feedback on their website instead of making a bloody thread on Digital Spy.

I suspect whoever started this thread is *exactly* the sort of person my parents fought like hell to stop me being stuck in a special boarding school with (no, not Eton, before anyone starts). Some people simply don't *exist* on a social or conversational level. We get a lot of them here - probably goes with the territory.

I think the original poster has the right to say his or her views on these forums. I don't bother listening to Town these days but it certainly wouldn't suprise me to hear that there OB sound quality was very poor; it has happened before for several of their OBs. It's good to see them doing them, but they should really improve the technical output or not bother.

There's always been a fair amount of rants and drivel on the forum but it's always been mixed in with some interesting comments and conversations. However, just recently I've noticed a definite upswing in the numbers of threads and posts that make little or no sense at all and appear to have absolutely no grounding in radio or, for that matter, the real world. It's all a bit odd.

I wonder if in future I could remotely control a radio station in the cloud.

"What?!"

Look up The Cloud.

Spotify's in the cloud.

When I read the title of this thread I thought Jesus Christ had come down from Heaven and landed in Felixstowe. I was just about to ring up Branch FM and tell them "you're in the wrong town! close down and move to Felixstowe!" The disappointment.

I do agree with the OP though, OBs should sound good. If they don't, people surely won't listen to them and they'll just be a waste of money and effort on the part of a broadcaster that wants to attract listeners by doing outside broadcasts. Simply doing an outside broadcast isn't good enough.

I would like to ask was it just the OB sound at the venue or broadcast feed that was distorted , they should have had an engineeer monitoring that issue at both ends

J.C. will be live from Stoke on Trent at Midnight tomorrow night launching UCB on National DAB. He will also be presenting UCB's flagship programme "Ask Jesus".

I think Town fm 102 -did a great job in having JC at the xmas lighst switch on ..better than the Mayor and it is his birthday! as for the sound quality-they have only been on air for just over three years and i'm sure these teething problems will soon be iorned out.
