Simon is right about Stacey
He is right that Stacey doesnt sing best belting out high notes like leona or alexandra.
For me her best performance was singing the coldplay song where it showed off her lovely tone to her voice. I think she has gone downhill since then just singing high notes when she doesnt need to |

I don't think she has gone downhill at all. I think she's great with her big ballads and think she's got a fantastic voice. However I do agree that she's better at the more subtle songs. She was amazing doing The Scientist
![]() Though Dannii should give her something uptempo. |

I think they should have taken Stacey down a different route to Leonalex.
The 2nd ballad last night had me yawning. What a shame. Stacey could have been different.

Simon cowell is the biggest hypocrite ever!!!He wasnt that keen on alexandra until about week 5 last year
Stacey has the potential to be as good as leona. (she has a better personality for a start)Sometimes her song choices are bad but given the right song she is excellent. Last nights version of Rule the world deserved a standing ovation IMO? couldnt find anything wrong with it, wasnt mad on her song choice for elton but she still sang it brilliantly |

I agree with the OP and I think that she should get up there and belt out a Florence and the Machine number - Dog Days would be brilliant.
Or perhaps dig out an old Kate Bush or Tracy Chapman record---get the girl out of a rut. |

I like Stacey and would like her in the final but I am finding her very boring lately. Actually I just think she is the best of a bad bunch this year but I find her looks more interesting than her voice. If she was given more interesting songs to sing it might have made a difference, but now it's too repetitive and I don't think her voice stands out too much. However, I think these songs have kept her in the competition because the voters like big songs and big notes even if it's boring so maybe Danni is right to play it safe. Personally though I am finding her and Joe very boring lately (although technically very good).

How is it Stacey is getting away with every week a slow number and just standing still on stage? The only week she moved about (and it was a slow move) was week 5.
Other contestants have been slammed for this. I remember Leona was ticked off for not moving around. Apart from Stacey, all of the others left have done uptempo tracks with some sort of routine. How is she getting away with it? |

I am very bored of hearing low, slow, quiet, out of key singing followed by loud, belty out high notes - had it with Leona and now we seem to be getting it with Stacey. I don't think she could do an up-tempo number but she's the only contestant who hasn't at least had a go at one!
I'm still waiting for her to come out and wow me like she did in her audition. |

The thing is you're kinda stuck in a catch-22. Stacey is better at the more low key stuff, that is where she really shines and if she were to win I'm sure that's what they would do with her (I think Stacey is more the kind of girl Simon really wanted to win last year than Alexandra was), the problem is these kind of low key performance struggle to grab attention on shows like this. It's the BIG Leona-esque performances that make winners.
Take Alex, how people would go on about how great she is at the uptempo stuff, how that was her niche but it was her big Leona-esque performance that suddenly made her 'the girl that was chosen to make the numbers' to a contender. |

Once you get beyond that first audition I'm afraid she is really only what I would call a competent singer with a good voice that still needs a great deal of training. In my opinion anyway, what we are now left with each week is about as good as it will get. |

She doesn't warble but she does wear a good ballgown... it could divide public opinion.

I would love to see her doing a more uptempo song. However, i dont have a problem with her doing ballads as i think she does them well.

I sort of agree with him, although he'd say anything to get rid of competition for his beloved boys.
![]() Her Coldplay song was really good. I wouldn't mind seeing her do songs like those. |

Stacey is my favourite but when she does the more calm songs like Coldplay and keane she is something amazing. Her voice on those is so understated but gorgeous

She's never lived up to her audition. Her nerves are very evident in her voice and her performances are a bit wooden.

Or even some Paloma Faith (Unlikely since she isn't that big a star) I was thinking how Stacey really hasn't had that uptempo songs, and thought a slightly slowed down, but still more uptempo than normal version of "When Love Takes Over" by David Guetta/Kelly Rowland would be amazing, or Stole. I agree with Simon, I see her as more of a Kelly Rowland to Leona's Beyonce, she still has a great voice, but not a massive belting one. Stole would also be a good choice for her imo. Edit: Somewhere between the original and this version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uoYDt7tKMU |

I agree with Simon. Dannii has been trying to turn Stacey into Leona and it's not working. I would like to here her sing more Eva Cassidy style songs.

Totally agree. I think Danni is going in the wrong direction with Stacey, and Simon was absolutely right with his comments last night
