The Singing or the Judging - which has been worse this year?

There have been a few great performances and a few good singers but overall for me the standard of singing have been a bit rubbish.

However I think that the judging has been worse

The deliberate tactical "going to deadlock" has pissed me off more than somewhat, particularly Simon changing his decision criterion when it suited him.

Cheryl and Louis judging Danyl's character as opposed to his singing/performance.

The over praising of some of them (including one of my favourites - Olly) when it was really not merited.

Louis's unconstructive sniping at Jamie.

The judging, and to coin another of Simon's pull-cord catchphrases, "by a country mile".

They've been like a pack of sniping and bickering small dogs, and added to that Cheryl has often been dressed like a dog's dinner.

I would prefer to have no judges at all next year. Just a voice coach and choreographer to mentor the contestants behind the scenes.

The singing has been poorer than previous years, only because quality singers have left too early - Jamie, Rachel at the expense of dross like Danyl and Lloyd

Worst singing performance has to have been Cole's rendition of her single.....

The judging has been shocking.

I used to always enjoy what Simon had to say because he was always honest, but no more.

The refusal by any judge to criticise Olly when he has been dire has confused me. Joe gets accused of being "stage school" yet Olly gets off the hook for being cheddar personified.

The sniping has been awful and the only judge with a modicum of credibility is Dannii.

So while I haven't been blown away by the contestants this year and there have been some truly woeful performances, the singing is still far better than the judging!

The judging insults our intelligence at times, the amount of praise Olly got during Queen week was shocking.

Couldn't have put it better myself. And I'd even rather listen to some of the shocking singing than look at some of Cheryl's "dresses"

Both have been pretty bad this year.

Judges constantly putting it to deadlock because they can't make a decision? Ergh.

Judging in my opinion, we could have seen some better singing with better guiding. The fact that despite everything there have been great performances shows that the talent is there, it's just taken them ages to bring it out.

The judging has been awful. Louis was always bad and Cheryl has clearly been told to be nice to all the acts but Simon has not said anything of any note in the entire series and is resorting to using the same quotes and analogies as in previous series. Dannii is the only one who makes sensible comments and even she seems bored now.

The Judging......how can you say someone was good, when they spent most of their song out of tune but criticise someone who gave a good performance for the smallest thing. I think the public are starting to see through it.

Th udging. Too much focus on their personalirties rather than how they sound and perform.
"you look like a popstar" "you're not likable" etc.

Some really good singers gone at the beginning of the live shows.

Cowell has lost all credibility for me this series. He has twice given standing ovations to bottom 2 performances, and his comments have been all over the place, telling offkey singers they had given an 'outstanding performance'.
