Danyl 9/1 to win. Worth sticking a bet on?

Admittedly I'm a massive Danyl fan, and have been since day 1. I also admit theres a massive split in support for him. You either love him or hate him.

Simon Cowell obviously wants him to win, as shown by his standing ovations week after week, regardless of his performance.

I've just read some of the other threads saying Danyl is possibly in the bottom two tonight, but I dont think this is obvious at all.

Danyl has a massive amount of backing on the internet. Theres tons of fan sites & blogs, and he's got a ton of followers on twitter. I'd hazard a guess at saying he has the most passionate fans.

I'd be very shocked if he went tonight, and I think I'd also be shocked if he wasnt in the final three.

Basically, I think he still has a great chance to win, and he can currently be backed at 9/1. I've already got a bet at 7/1 for him to win, and considering placing another.

Looking at the remaining contestants, can you really see Stacey, Lloyd, Joe or Olly doing well in the US? Not me. Danyl is the only one who has potential to do well over there.

What does everyone think to his chances of winning?

He has zero chance of winning - I would save your money to be honest

I don't think that Danyl is going to win this year, so it may not be worth your while putting a bet on.

Unfortunately I feel he is to "marmite" to win.

Even if he makes the final 2/3 I doubt he would take the top spot.

Don't think it matters at this stage anyway.

Why does a performer have to do well in the US? And why should the voting public take that into account when voting? I haven't voted yet, but if/when I do, it will be based on the performances being given, not on whether I think that performer will make it in the US! After all, this is the X-Factor, not the 'Making It In The US-Factor'!

Danyl is not only 'marmite' he's also risky.

He's not a generic singer, and he doesn't always get it completely right either, so I don't think he will win.

The least offensive and most universally pleasing will win - Joe, or perhaps Stacey I think.

I don't think Olly or Lloyd are either good enough to win, but I could be wrong.

I hope Danyl makes the top three, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he doesn't.

I'm glad he's got the passionate fans though, that's the mark of someone with a real chance to make a career out of singing.

Joe has a broad appeal but doesn't evoke the same passionate partisanship, perhaps.

Stacey is a great girl with a good voice, but it's not 'special' enough and there are thousands out there.

Olly is a straightforward performer, but doesn't have a great voice.

Lloyd is a nice lad, but there will be another Lloyd along in a minute and the tweenies will switch allegiance.

But Danyl winning X factor - I wouldn't put money on it.

I think he's got most potential to really succeed though.

Do it!

Last week I had a feeling Olly would be in the bottom two, and even though the bookies had given him worse odds of survival than usual, they seemed to think he'd be safe. I wasn't convinced though, so I thought I'd stick a bet on, to cheer myself up if he was in the bottom 2!

Placed a bet on him & Lloyd, him & Danyl, and him & Jedward. And also one on just him with anyone.

£2 on him in the bottom 2, and £1 with Lloyd/Danyl (because I really wanted one of them to go, so that result wouldn't be so bad)
£10 on Olly/Jedward (I love them both, what can I say?)

May have been my worst result, and I was but I did win £180... so, not a bad night.

I don't usually bet, but I have found that placing bets on your worst scenario tend to be good, because it cheers you up a bit! I win £210 if Olly goes tonight, and I only spent £10 (of last weeks winnings )

Agree Rhumba, I think Danyl making the Final would be an achievement.I just can not see him winning and actually I would be happy with that, he'd be better off without XF winner tag, it's a poisoned challice most of the time.

The Americans have already seen Danyl and though there was some positive reaction, it was mostly overwhelmingly negative.

Stacey and Joe have had better receptions, including Facebook groups set up for them by American members, from the comparatively minimal amount of people who have seen their performances on Youtube simply because they are interested in the X Factor compared to Danyl's exposure on national US television.

Anyway, what does it matter? This is a UK talent show. These shows discover international stars rarely.

Yes of course the UK public arent voting for potential etc, they vote for who they like the best.

I just sense that Cowell wants Danyl to win the most. Might be wrong, but just a hunch. Why else would he give him standing ovation after standing ovation each week?

Its going to be a very close vote tonight still! I take it theres no sing off tonight?

This is where some people have to make their mind up. Does Simon's support encourage people or put people off? My view is people don't have a problem with hype if they feel it's justified. If Simon sees that to a great extent people are not agreeing that Danyl is all that, why does he continue to give him standing ovations and overpraise him? Could it be because he doesn't actually want Danyl to win?

I would spend the money on votes for Joe instead. Danyl won't win.

No I will stick with the history of the XF no one has won that has been in the bottom 2 Danyl has They have come second JLS G4 etc.

We have realised that Simon has wanted Danyl to win since day 1 the rest have been cannon fodder, what ever he will probably get a contract with Syco anyway as SC seems besotted.

He cant even sing in tune.

I'm sure Simon has access to 'autotune equipment'.

You can still get odds of 5/2 for Danyl to be eliminated tonight. Far more likely to earn you some return

I think so too. I think he's probably gone tonight, actually (though I hope not). If I were the OP I'd put money on him to leave.

If this were a singing competition then it would be a straightforward Danyl vs Joe fight.

Unfortunately though most of the British public who vote treat this like a popularity contest - so I don't think Danyl will win. Instead we're going to get another Leon Jackson type win with someone like Stacey or Olly who Syco will drop like a stone after the novelty has worn off.

Well I stuck the bet on in the end! Now its one step closer to happening

I'd put Joe as favourite, but I certainly wouldnt say he's out there on his own. Especially with what Olly did to Lloyd tonight (not shaking his hand), I'd expect the odds on Danyl winning to shorten now.

I think he's too marmite to win. If he gets to the final 2/3 there will be people who are voting for others just so he doesn't win imo.

Best odds you can get now are 8/1.
