Can Outlook Express 6 be used to access web-based email?

I'd be grateful for some help here pleased. I'm trying (and so far not succeeding) to get Outlook Express 6 (XP OS) to try to access a web-based email account.

Can this actually be done or am I wasting my time. All positive contributions gratefully received - thanks!

Depends entirely on the web-based email account. Tell us what it is and someone may be able to help.

To access a web-based email account you need a web browser, not an email account. If you mean can you download the emails to read offline, the email server has to support it (typically, that would be POP3).

I have several web email accounts, and I access them all with OE6, as the accounts all support it. To do this, you just need the server details from the email account supplier.

Edit - there might be an extra charge.

Thanks guys for responding. I think I've solved it by starting Outlook Express's Internet Connection Wizard again from scratch and proceeding very slowly and carefully!
