Boyle and Radio

Just listened to a report on Heart news about how Susan Boyle has the fastest selling album and it struck me despite that fact, which radio station plays tracks of this artist? I know Heart doesn't and the other station I listen to is Gold. I would add that I'm no fan of this person, but with Heart, if your name does not include Buble, Williams, Lewis etc.......you do not have much chance of airplay.

... along with anyone else not on the 'Dirty Dancing' soundtrack and let's remember Abba only sang 'Mamma Mia' since the film came out!

Her album was album of the week on the Ken Bruce show and Wild Horses has had strong airplay for weeks now.

Radio 1 have played it at least twice afaik. I think it was Scott Mills who "premiered" it on breakfast covering for Moyles and Greg James played it on Wednesday during his show.

Speaking of SuBo, when listening to Moyles on eith Thurs or Fri both Aled & Moyles agreed that it shouldn't be played on Radio 1.

Good luck to Susan Boyle for what she achieves with the single / album but she's not to my liking and can't stand hearing about her on radio, tv etc. etc.

That's an interesting site and survey , because I live in the middle of both Hearts East/West and have to say I have never heard Boyle played on them. Must be playing her in the middle of the night or in club classics!!!

According to Heart's website Wild Horses was played at 3:33am today so it is probably being played in the night.

Susan Boyle fits into a very small category of radio airplay. Radio 2 have had Wild Horses on heavy rotation for about 4 weeks and as mentioned by a previous poster, her album was Ken Bruce's record of the week last week.

I can see stations like Smooth playing it and I know her local station Forth One have been heavily promoting it but as for the other commercial stations I guess it doesn't meet their standard play list songs.
