TV Capture card advice needed (for Dreamcast capture)

Hi there, I really want to buy a PCI TV Capture card so I can plug in my Dreamcast and take screenshots of the picture or game. Can everyone reccomend the CHEAPEST but BEST TV card they know of (Im looking to spend £30.00 or under).

The cart must have:

* (possibly) Scart input (do you get that for PC?)
* Audio/Video inputs (Red/Yellow circles)
* Aerial input
* Teletext
* Remote control (Maybe :P)

Also what software will I need to capture video to MPG and screenshots to JPG?

You don't get SCART on the PC, (usually anyway)

I've got S-Video, Composite and an aerial. Composite and S-Video are the picture only - you have to pipe the audio in via the sound card.

I've got an adaptor for the white and red plugs and put it into the Line-in port in the soundcard.

Aerial has sound with it (I get mono only though)

To capture video depends on the capture card.

You may be able to use software supplied, although all capture cards I have experienced only supply software to capture video to AVI. Capturing video to mpg can be done with some software but you may need a fast (1Ghz or better) pc to get good results. Alternatively, capture AVI with software like "virtual dub", and convert the resulting AVI file to mpg using software like "TMPGenc".

Also be aware that if you are using windows ME/98 or older, you may encounter a file size limit of 4Gb or less which will reduce the amount of video you can capture. Capturing AVI with little or no compression at VCD quality (about half TV resolution) you will capture about 11 to 15 minutes of video before reaching the 4Gb limit.

You can capture in MPEG with the bundled software, if there is anything good bundled

I capture in DVD Res (720x576) with PowerDirector 2 I got on a cover disc a little while ago (I think you can still get it)

Gonna get PowerVCR to do timed recordings now
