No Future For Kate. The Anorak View.

From the satirical site, Anorak, some discussion of BB winners, Kate & Craig.

''DO you wonder what the future holds in store for Kate Lawler? Russell Grant is saying nothing, so we can only conclude that the future holds nothing.

The winner of Big Brother something-or-other will do nothing. She will appear in nothing. Nothing will happen to her. She will go nowhere, whether on a short or long journey. She will meet no-one, dark mysterious strangers included. Her career will come to nothing.

Remember, Lawler fans, that this is not us speaking but the crystal ball, the tarot cards and opened palms crossed with silver that make up Russell Grant's life.

We, on the other had, wish Kate Lawler the very best of luck in whatever she does, even if it is merely ordering another ice-cream to complement the one OK! watches her devour.

She might, as is the way with Big Brother winners, go on to appear at Liverpool's Newz Bar and, while there, dine on a meal of goats cheese spring rolls with petite nicoise salad.

OK! offered that exact meal to Craig Phillips, winner of Big Brother 1, and his mouth watered at the prospect.....''

Read the rest at Anorak, 04/05/04.

She lacks any redeeming qualities, I'd rather she just disappeared back into obscurity again instead of flaunting herself at every opportunity.

Three and a half million people did not vote for her, unless they put a single vote in each, which I sincerely doubt

I 'll say again, because she was Endemol's chosen one and they promoted her at every turn, same goes the bore that is Cameron

Love the Anorak article btw

And Cameron was Endemol's chosen one and they promoted him at every turn and tried to marginalise Jon as an unlikeable
geek ......

Soar grapes once again from the losing team.

Kate got 3,106,077 I'm confident the viewers will once again have the good sense to vote for the person who deserves to win BB5 and lets all the geeks, wee men, and any backstabbing B****** know how much they are not liked by voting for them to be evicted from the house the first chance they get.

The anorak site seems to demonstrate what the brain dead do to keep themselves amused. As a source of information it was about as uninformative as its possible to be. Does anyone over 10 visit the site?

I voted for Kate to win, but only once Alex (he should have won) and Jade had left. No way did I want Johnie to win.

Is that the best you can do, you have no reasonable reply to a post, so you kick back to the old 'sour grapes' scenerio again

Going by the Anorak article, and a good one at that, well I enjoyed it and what this thread is about. Doesn't matter wheather Kate won BB3 or not, it's stating her so called venture into tv land is over now, and I sincerely hope they are right that's also why she was handed that little ' your fifteen minutes of fame are over' statuette thingy or whatever it was called, which she took with such bad grace

Some Kate fans just will not accept what is staring them in the face, they are in denial btw I am not sure what 'Soar grapes' are. I take it you meant sour.

Im a fan of Kates and Im over 10 years old and I adore the Anorak site. It is hilarious.

My guess is that Kate would love that article because she has a sense of humour unlike you.

I think it is very sad that people like you have nothing better to do than come on the internet to be nasty to strangers.

Excellent points Susann, they did make it the Kate Lawler show and were determined to have a female winner. I hope they have changed the producers because they got it badly wrong last year and do not deserve another chance.

To be fair Susann, the "sour grapes" reply always complements the old "promoted by Endemol" chestnut.

I disagree, i think if they wanted anyone to win it was Jade. I myself wanted Alex to win as i thought he was fantastic entertainment but i can see why viewers chose Kate as she has a girl next door quality to her.

At the time I wanted Alex to win too, but am now glad he didn't, as I really don't think he would have wanted all the hullabaloo that goes with being the winner, although Cameron never got any, in fact Cameron's almost forgotten now. I honestly believe that winning BB doesn't really matter that much anyway. Out of the house, it's often the one's that didn't win that seem to stand out.

I don't think they promoted Jade to win at all, but they did turn it around for her so she didn't come out to boo's, which shows how Endermol can manipulate the public. Instead they did a job on poor Adele, who did not deserve the reception she got on being evicted, she also deserved to stay in the BB house longer.

When I look back now, although I don't really like Kate much, she was always going to win, as I believe she was promoted very much to win. When it got down to the final two, I silently prayed that Jonny wouldn't win, although deep down I knew he never stood a chance against Endemol's chosen one anyway.

At the end of the day no matter how much one person is promoted it doesn't mean they are going to win it.
I don't think that Cameron was promoted, in fact the opposite really....they quizzed him about things that he felt were too personal to discuss i.e how he felt about gay relationships , repeatedly showed Jon saying that he thought that Cameron wasn't what people thought he would be, also repeatedly showed the part where Jon told him to back him up in the argument and voice his opinions and he wouldn't etc etc

I personally wanted Jonny to win BB3 and when he lost I accepted the fact that more people preferred Kate. Why can't you accept that? You either like a person or you don't and I along with many others didn't like Alex. I think it is really arrogant of you to suggest that people who didn't vote for Alex to win were gullible and were being led like sheep to vote for Kate and all the Alex fans were the wise ones who knew the supposed truth. How do you know that it wasn't the other way around? You don't like Kate, so why can't you accept that others don't like Alex? Does it really matter who actually won in the end, it's a game show and none of the contestants on this show were ever going to be talented enough to succeed in the media world. Even Brian's luck will run out eventually.

I agree Starship, i wanted Alex to win but liked Kate too, nobody led me to feel that way, i just thought that both were great entertainment. Each one is as deserving as the other to win.

Whoa, right let's set this straight, you wanted Jonny to win as some other's did. I at the time wanted Alex to win as some other's did and I have never said that some people didn't prefer Kate, if I have then please point out where. And no way will I accept what you ask/tell me to accept, now that's more like what I call arrogance, from you not me

My post was not about who we wanted to win or didn't, that was just added in the context of the post. If you read my post properly, you would see I stated looking back now, I am actually glad Alex didn't win, and that a win makes no difference to how successful or not they are outside the BB house. You sound more miffed at me for not worshipping your precious Jonny, well I couldn't stand Jonny and still can't.

You can think what you like about me, but don't twist my words so dramatically. I never said ANYWHERE that people were gullible not to vote for Alex or that people were led like sheep to vote for Kate. What I said and still believe is that Endemol and even C4 promoted Kate to win from the outset. I still believe a lot a lot of the people were manipulated as I am entitled to believe if I so choose.

Did I say it mattered who won ? Although it might to the people who like a particular hm and spend a lot of pennies on trying to keep them in, especially if they believe there is a lot of bias editing against certain hm's.

Of course it's a kind of game show, but one where the public spends enormous ammounts of money on phone calls and where the contestants stand to make a lot of money out of it and hopefully to them in most of their cases a tv career, which if we are honest is what most go in the BB house for. It's like one long audition for them. It would be nice if one of them admitted to this for a change.

This thread is not about who won, so I tried to keep that bit to a minimum if I could and was just using it in the context of the post. This thread is about how Kate has no tv career now.

The only thing getting out of hand is posts not being read properly or misinterpruted I am just putting the record straight where my post is concerned, so we can get back on track to what this thread is originally about ' Kate having no tv career'
