rank newbie question

know little to nothng about this so be gentle

bought a place in France and want SKY there, I have the full deal here in the UK

I've bought a used Panasonic xxxx30 and just ordered what I now know to be a mirror card on my home accout

If I activate it at home on the used box will I be able to cart box and card off to France? I'm aware of the phone rstriction but my original box is only connected for PPV purchase

If this won't work, what should I do? got a wife and mother inlaw insistant on the comforts of home,m even the basic channels would be cool

Many thanks and sorry if this has been done over and over

with a mirror sub you have to have both boxes connected to the phone line, and if you dont they will find out and you will be charged full price for each box, best thing to do is just take your existing one when you go and bring it back when you are at home

thank-you

Does the first box not do the callback?

And if I want to have a permanent sky service at the French place next year, renting it out, is there any way other than paying the full price on the French end of the operation

if you do not have a mirror sub, and just stick to one box, after the first year you do not have to have it connected to the phone line, as far as i know there is no way round paying full price for the second box if its not connected.

as of today I do have a mirror sub although not activated yet, in the post, I'm leaving that until I get back from hols I take it?

all been a bit of a bust the mirror sub thing really it seems, use it for the long postponed SKY+ upgrade plus second box I suppose

and then another box plus seperate card for the French place when it goes on rent

ho-hum Sky do seem to have it pretty much sorted

thanks for the advice
