Worst Sketch Show Sketch...EVER!!!

What is the worst sketch show sketch ever?
I hated the big nose Vic Reeves in The Sketch Show. It was unbelieveably juvenile like most of the other sketches on that show. It was such a shame that ITV could get all those good stars of comedy and make the show so awful.
The Pirate Radio DJ one in The Lenny Henry Show is also quite dire.

Anything from "Revolver". Could have been a decent show, that one, but just had me switching off in annoyance after ten minutes whenever I tried to watch.

With the exception of The Fast Show, I think most recent mainstream/family sketchshows have been pretty dire. Revolver comes to mind, as do lots of generic take-the-pay-cheque-and-run sketchshows featuring decent performers (Steve Coogan, Vic Reeves, Pauline McLynn, Hugh Dennis etc.). Oh, and Lenny Henry too... *shudders*

I liked Smack The Pony, Jam, Big Train, and Little Britain etc., but they were a bit mental for many people.

Sorry The show wasn't called the sketch show, that was a different programme with Tim Vine and Ronni Ancona. The show was called The All Star Comedy Show. Anyway I'm not looking for the worst sketch shows but the worst sketches.

Actually there was a show called 'we know where you live' that was on C5 around the time it first launched.
Featured Sanjeev Bhaskar and Amanda Holden

I will never forget the show.
It has physically scarred me.

Nah! They've lost their shine now but they used to be hilarious. Reeves and Mortimer, on the other hand, have never been funny.

The latest series of Bo' Selecta, anyone?

But I think that's been covered enough on these boards...

Have to disagree with you there. Vic & Bob may have tailed off a bit over the past few years but when they first appeared on Channel 4 (with Vic Reeves Big Night Out) they were the funniest thing on TV IMO. Graham Lister, Morrissey The Consumer Monkey, The Man With The stick, The Stotts, Judge Nutmeg, ''Rick Astley'', Tinker's Rucksack - they were creating new & innovative characters semingly at will. As someone too young to remember the Pythons at the time Big Night Out was some of the most innovative, off-the-wall comedy I'd ever seen.

Even some of their skits on Shooting Stars still have me laughing. Cockney walkabout, anyone?

Which just goes to show that comedy is entirely subjective (and threads like this are pretty pointless, really)

I agree about comedy being subjective. I jut felt compelled to defend Vic & Bob after your original message seemed to be stating that they'd never been funny full stop. That, of course, is entirely your - dare I say it - subjective opinion rather than a definitive statement of fact.

Absolutely! It is a fact as far as I'm concerned but I appreciate that many people would disagree and people also find completely unfunny things which have me aching with laughter.

Can I remind you again that this post is not for the worst sketch shows (i.e Bo Selecta) but for the worst sketches (i.e The Bear from Bo' Selecta)

It's OK, we heard you the first time. Posts in this place may stray slightly off-topic at times but it is a democracy so if people go off at tangents from time to time I'm afraid you'll just have to grin and bear it.

Although, if we start discussing sport or religion or something in this topic then please do feel free to berate us.

Anything that had Dustin Gee in it.

Banny Hill was the genius behind the sketch show as it is seen today.

That one about a middle aged woman who was still with her er- baton (I'm not sure if that's the word) group in the Catherine Tate Show was dragged on alot considering it was a half hour show. Not the worst but it was quite annoying since it was 10mins every single week of the same thing!

I think it was something like the Lancashire Spinners (AAAAAAAAA someone help!)
