petiton email sent to me today
Hello Christine
Before you go mad with me I have started some more petitions over the weekend because television is in a disgraceful taste and I can see us going down the gutter even further unless we start to get our fingers out and do something about it and prove that we are fed up with the state that British Television is in. As we are reaching the end of 2004 I have counted up the number of petitions that I have in total and there are 43. Some you may have already signed some you won't have signed. Please consider signing at least some of them. I don't for one minute expect you to sign everyone that is quite understandable, people have different views on things don't they. See below the titles of the petitions with their URL's beside them and they are listed in alphabetical order by the way. 1) A Knighthood for Angela Rippon - www.petitiononline.com/rip1210p/petition.html 2) A Knighthood for Bill Cotton - www.petitiononline.com/spi50der/petition.html 43) Bring The Telebugs out on Dvd - www.petitiononline.com/bug55bug/petition.html As you can see there are a lot of petitions here and what I suggest you do is highlight the whole of this email with your mouse, click on edit at the top of the screen, then click on copy, then go out of the internet altogether, go into word, then click on edit again, click on paste and then lastly print it off. This is the only way that you will be able to get a complete listing in front of you at all times because if you try and print this email off the internet it won't work I'm afraid. I only started certain petitions yesterday and I could do with you spreading the word because out of all these petitions that are available to sign a lot of them will appeal to the whole family not just one individual. Please make sure though that you read each of the main pages of all the petitions first before whether deciding to sign them or not as it will hopefully make sense then why the titles of the petitions are worded the way they are. Thank you for taking the time to read my long email and can you please email me back as soon as possible. Yours sincerely Robert |

ITV would be left with almost a 'monopoly' over the soap market...axing Hollyoaks & Family Affairs too... |

Go back to 3 terrestrial channels - I think not.
Although I did agree with some of those petitions, it would be like returning to the 1980's and I think once was enough for most people. |

Sir Angela Rippon - has quite a ring to it.
Loving no.29 - 'Bring back Crosswits and The Krypton Factor' - I'm sure many Gordon Burns fans will agree. |

No way!!!Some of the producers on the soaps today are very good! Bad Girls is a great drama. Channel 5 atleast has some really good shows, C4 has a few. EastEnders doesn't need to be axed as it should be improviding over the coming months, and a soap does not deserve to be axed just because of a bad period, it deserves the chance to improve first! Family Affairs is a brilliant soap! Same goes for Neighbours. And i love The Bill as it is, the only reason it is more like a soap now is because it was on the verge of being axed! |

This is pathetic and sad. If you don't like some shows don't watch them. If you want less soaps, watch less or stop watching.
There are people who like this. Whoever comes up with these needs to grow up and respect other people's views |

...Because everyone knows that online petitions work.
Anyone remember the one a few years back where someone claimed that naming LOTR: The Two Towers was offensive because of 9/11? Never mind that the book was written fifty years beforehand! What a waste of time. |

Alls I can say is, why dont' we just throw out our tellys altogether eh? If all the soaps get reduced, what do you plan on filling the gaps in the schedules with? I love these people who say axe the soaps, axe EastEnders, reduce Corrie to twice aweek. Ok then, but what do you propose to fill the schedules with?
As for you axeing EastEnders! why? because its had a really bad year? And I suppose you could keep a show firing on all cylinders four nights a week, week after week, year after year, with no breaks? There are some really good Producers on soap these days i.e. Carolyn Reynolds, Tony Wood, Keith Richardson. Not to mention John Yorke who Produced EastEnders when it was good and then produced a cracking drama called Shameless this year. Bad Girls is also very good. I could go on and on, but I'm bored already lol Axe the petitions thats what I say! |

![]() A former work colleague of mine was on the Krypton Factor in 1990. I miss that show. Crosswits was good too with Tom O'Connor. T-bag - wow a classic from my younger days ![]() The petitioner is obviously trying to be the Margaret Thatcher of television, but fails miserably!

Well I think it is a genuine hoax - meaning the thread starter didn't make it up, but the survey itself is just a joke. The reason I say this is because brooksider has trouble spelling and using grammar (for whatever reason - no offence Brooksider
). Whether Brooksider was aware it was a joke survey or not I don't know.

All links to the petitons work i have checked just to see what they say, and i think the person who emailed them to me believes in all these for some reason, quite weird i know.
Like the time i thought there was hope Brookside would actually return. |

Having read the petition email, and seeing all the things they want axed, it seems to me they would be far happier just watching the test card.
