Best Soap Killings
Which have been the best soap killings for you (it's ok to have more than one for each soap) in the soaps you watch? Why?
Mine are as follows: EastEnders: Chrissie kills Den ~ I think the whole build up to it was electrifying ! Plus the fact we didn't know who would kill him, and the sting in the tale being Zoe hitting Den first with the lethal door-stopper and then Chrissie doing it while she was out of sight, letting her believe she did it! Class !Janine pushes Barry off a cliff ~ We all knew Janine was after Barry's money (a plan hatched by her and her secret lover, Paul Trueman, who happened to be Barry's mate), and the whole storyline lasted almost a year without being felt like it was dragged out. It was a great ending to the storyline and then to see Janine stitched up for a death she didn't commit! Coronation Street: Richard the killman Hillman ~ It all started when he let his business partner, Duggie Ferguson, die after he fell through a weak banisterat the building site he was working on. Instead of helping, Richard robbed Duggie's savings in a safe at his home. Then his ex-wife, Patricia turned up, demanding money from their joint business. During a row, Richard picked up a spade and smashed it over Patricia's head and killed her! He covered cement over her body the next morning. He then made out his mother-in-law Audrey was going mad and then set her house on fire, making it seem she'd forgotten to tun the stove off. Audrey soon became suspicious of Richard after something he said, and publically accused him of attempting to get rid of her! His wife Gail stuck by him however, and soon his business was going down. He conned elderly neighbour Emily Bishop (he got her to sign something which meant that if she died, her house would go to Richard's company). While she babysitted for the Peacocks, he crept up behind her and bashed a crowbar over her head, dressed in his enemy Ade Critchley's clothes (he wanted to stitch him up afer crashing a stolen car with his step-daughter inside). Maxine walked in and caught him in the act, so she got the same punishment. Emily survived, Maxine didn't. After a series of evidence pointed the finger of suspicion at Richard, he confessed to Gail, kidnapped her and the kids, and crashed into a river. He died while his family swam free. The whole thing was excellently written, and an equally dramatic exit to feed us! These are some of the greatest and most memorable murders in soap history! Emmerdale: Andy burns Sarah in the barn fire ~ Young Andy Sugden realized that, if there was a fire in the barn, his adoptive father Jack would claim insurance, as he was soon to be declared bankrupt. He set fire to the barn, unaware that his adoptive mother, Sarah, was inside. She perished to death! Jack took the rap for murdeing her after Andy confessed what happened. It was well written and a big shock for Andy and Jack. The whole soryline proved some drastic actions out of love. Family Affairs: The Hart family wipe-out ~ First the grandparents were dispersed when Jack Gates smothered his wife, Elsa, to death after going mad; then, the boat in which at the reception of the wedding of Mel Hart to Roy Farmer was held, exploded with the remaining Harts on it! Classic cast cull, never been done like this before! Terror for Eileen ~ Pete Callan was engaged to Charlotte Day for a while until ssome family rows broke them up, and she left Charnham. He then seduced her sister, Lucy, after finally declaring their feelings for one another. He had a change of mind and rejected her, saying she was too young, and she attempted suicide. Her mother Eileen was hungry for revenge after blaming Pete for nearly causing the loss of her child. She bedded Pete, and, along with the planning of her ex-lover and former pimp, Mike, she burned down the café of Roy Farmer (Pete's arch-nemesis), pinning it on Pete. She was unaware that Roy was inside at the time, and he burned to death. She married Pete and looked on in delight as Pete was arrested at their reception for arson and murder. Soon arrived her long lost son, Sam, who she gave up for adoption (the product of her fling with Mike years ago; he knew nothing of the baby). After Pete was sent to gaol, she had a change of heart, and decided she loved Pete after all. She got him out on appeal, and a jealous Mike (who still loved Eileen) attempted to rape her on the night of Pete's release. Lucy walked in and smashed Mike's head against the sink, killing him. Pete walked in home having to deal with another murder, after just being released for one! They dumped Mike's body in the canal, having to lie to Sam (although Eileen told him what happened and he stood by her). Eileen's old friend, Trish Wallace, arrived. She began secretly stalking Eileen, with "I know your secret" graffitied on her walls. When the stalker was revealed, she [Trish] said that she was dating Mike when he died, and they planned to have a baby together until Sam arrived and he fell back in love with Eileen, however Mike informed Trish of his plan with Eileen (to burn the café). Trish blackmailed Eileen (or else she'd tell Pete he set her up), and she began sleeping with Pete, and told him the truth before planning to rip off Eileen for everything she had. Pete confronted Eileen on their first wedding anniversary, and he pushed her into the canal, wanting her to drown. She survived, Pete still loved her so he kicked Trish out and he and Eileen are now expecting a baby, having forgiven each other. Now THAT'S what I call a soap plot! Absolutely fantastic viewing! _______________________________________________ Leon |

My favorites are as follows....
Eastenders 100% Chrissie killing Den it was funny, scary and we didn't know who was goin to kill him.Bumping off soaps best character with a paulines metal dog was genius. Frank running over Tiffany was really sad. Corrie Richard Hillman's death was great, and when he slaughted Maxine. Emmardale I liked Chris Tate's sucide. I can't think of many murders.I was going to say Little Mo killing Trevor but he survived so it dosen't count. Oh and great post.

and I had been living in cloud cuckoo land and didnt know Andy was leaving.Home and Away Noahs death was well done because he was just shot randomly. And it was well acted. Coronation street.... Maxines Family Affairs... I dont think Ive watched it long enough to see a death My favourite death of all time was Tiffany Eastenders. Very upsetting. |

Why was Frank never punished for Tiffanys death. He wasn't concerntrating on the raod and he didn't even get charged with manslaughter. Grant should have as well.

Noahs Death in Home & Away. Although i knew what was going to happen. they kept you wondering who had been killed up till the last point. also the storyline lasted about a year and a half. starting from Noah telling Dani at Uni that Felix was copying work or something or other, then Dani published an article in the uni campus paper, Which got Felix kicked out of Uni, Felix then began stalking Dani, Leaving her death threats etc. One major one was when he got his Girlfriend (to appear much later) to pretend to be a police officer & tell Dani that Scott had died - only he hadn't, After a few more incidents, Felix was randomly beaten up by someone - although you never found out who it was, he then died later on in hospital, a murder investagation was launched with Dani, Scott, Kane, Rhys & Jesse suspects, when Felix died his girlfriend Sarah began stalking them demanding to find out who killed Felix, Later on a post-mortem revealed Felix had died of a Crystal-meth drug overdose, with Sarah being the prime suspect, Now obvious to everyone she had mental problems and was soon put into a Mental home when she was caught, Only after getting ahold of Tasha's gun and shooting Jesse in the head, Luckily for Jesse missing his head from close range grasing his skull, She then hid the gun, and after Detective Baker got all the victims of Sarah & Felix to talk to Sarah in the Mental Hospital, Noah got Sarah to confess to killing Felix, But then outside we saw Sarah talking to a imaginary Felix saying she had to say that to get her out of there and to find the person responsible for his death, a few weeks passed and no gun had been found, then there was news of Sarah's escape. Detective baker got everyone round to Leah's for safety as Sarah didn't know Leah. Scott & Dani went home as they forgot their passports as they were leaving for France the next day, but as they got in the house they found sarah with the gun (where she had hidden it in Irenes House) and got Scott to Tie Dani up and pointed the gun at Scott and told him to drive her to the others. they got passed the police lookouts and Scott drove to Leah's. Meanwhile Baker went out to look for the gun & sarah, but while he was out, Sarah got into Leahs and held up Sally, Flynn, Jesse, Kane, Kirsty, Hayly, Noah, Leah and Scott and said she will shoot at random if no-one confessed to felix's murder within 30 minutes. Baker could find Sarah and headed back, as he came in the house sarah knocked him out, making him fall awkwardly and fall into a coma (which he's still in) and before that he revealed to Leah, Vinne was still alive, Then Rhys appeared at dani's and Dani managed to knock a cd player on, Rhys found her and with the police the madly drove to Leah's, As they approached Sarah counted down 5-4-3-2 then Dani got out the car she heard two shots fired.
the next episode we had a funeral when it turns out. Kane, Flynn, Jesse & Noah jumped on Sarah she pulled the trigger but the shots missed and she ran outside and met facetoface with dani, But Noah came out as Sarah was going to shoot Dani, But shot Noah instead then Turned the Gun on herself, Damn i didnt mean to write so much. but in all honestly the storyline was so long. and just built up bigger and bigger. i have to say it was the best bit of soap writing ever in my opinion |

EastEnders Nick Cotton kills Eddie Royle. The Queen Vic landlord wasn't very popular with the residents of Albert Square nor the viewers. He was stabbed and left to die in the Square near Arthurs Bench, before it was Arthurs bench of course.
Chrissie Murders Den: Despite it being pulled apart on here afterwards, I really enjoyed this episode, the build up to his death in the episode was gripping, Sharon's appearance capped it all off and the shock twist that Chrissie killed him after Zoe believed she'd murdered him and still does. Frank Runs Over Tiffany This shocking and tragic event on New Years Eve 1999 brought to an end one of the most turbulent marriages in Walford history. Just a week after she'd fallen down the stairs of the Vic, Tiffany died in her bid to escape Grant and her life in Albert Square. One of the best storylines in EE history and one of the saddest climaxes to a storyline. CORONATION STREET Richard Murders Maxine One of the most chilling ever episodes of Corrie, saw Richard attempt to do away with Emily Bishop. Maxine's surprise return home to find Emily bashed over the head, sealed her fate and Richard bludgeoned her to death as her son cried out for her upstairs. |

Steve murders Saskia
Saskia, a psychotic ex of Steves, turned up. He was not interested in her so she stalked him, vandalised his car and managed to get him into bed and she made sure everyone, especially Mel, knew about it. On Valentines Day, she turned up at E20 and began to drink. As the tonic began to flow she stumbled into the office, followed by Steve. She threatened to destroy his life and started to knock him about. Steve, a bit handy with the self defence, picked up the nearest object, an ash tray, and bashed Saskia round the head with it. She drops dead. The whole incident was witnessed by Matthew, and him and Steve look at a very dead Saskia. Great eppie!
