3rd April
Things aren’t looking good for Angela who has been locked up for the night following her arrest for Tommy’s murder. As she is languishing in her cell, her children are sent into disarray as Craig breaks down and attempts to steal Martin’s car. When the police begin their questioning the next morning Angela remains defiant, but how will she react when faced with the incriminating evidence? Hayley is faced with a moral dilemma when she confesses to Roy that she went to Sheffield to post the letter for Angela in a bid to help her get on the Witness Protection Programme. As her conscience gets the better of her she goes to the police thinking that she will be helping Angela by telling the truth. Her naivety lands her hot water as she is arrested for her part in police deception. Will she stick by Angela or turn her back on her to save herself? Liz is becoming increasingly annoyed with Tracy as she continues to play games with Nathan. Tracy is unperturbed as she goes in for round two with Nathan and invites him to stay the night. He is slightly put off by the Barlows’ sleeping arrangements but after falling for Tracy’s charms once again, he is lured upstairs. Ray is less than impressed when he learns of his daughter’s antics but will Tracy’s behaviour get the right reaction from Steve? Elsewhere, Steve and Louise go on their first date. 4th April Episode 1 Angela continues to protest her innocence at her solicitor, but things look bleak as a forensic squad search the Harris’ house for more evidence. As the police continue their questioning, they pile on the pressure in a bid to force Angela into making a confession. Will she be able to hold her nerve or will she accept the blame for a murder she didn’t commit? Things get worse for Hayley as her good intentions aren’t well received. Katy turns on Hayley when she admits posting the letter. Roy does his best to support her but will she be able to forgive herself if Angela is charged with Tommy’s murder? Meanwhile, Tyrone is in charge of the garage whilst Kevin is away and Maria is impressed by his dedication. And Fred buys a new statue for the garden, but Claire and Ashley aren’t impressed. 4th April Episode 2 Katy and Craig are anticipating Angela’s homecoming when the family liaison officer arrives with some devastating news. After making a confession to police, Angela will now stand trial for Tommy’s murder. Katy puts on a blinding performance as Angela is brought into court, and as they manage to get a moment together, Angela tells her she must look after Craig. Keith decides that Katy and Craig need to get away from the street and they pack up their things and go to Sheffield. Is this the new beginning that Katy craves? The Barlow wedding is fast approaching and Blanche isn’t happy that her friend Lena is being missed from the guest list. Tracy feels that Ray is becoming too vocal with his opinions and tries to talk Ken and Deirdre out of inviting him to the wedding. But after a change of heart, Ken insists that Ray will be a welcome guest on the big day. A surprise visit from Adam means the event will be a proper family affair, but first stags and hen nights must be arranged! Elsewhere, Tyrone reluctantly agrees to give Nathan a job in the garage. 6th April Deirdre and the girls are getting ready for the hen night with outfits and pictures at the ready. Ken’s stag do is a little more low key as he is left alone with Ray for the evening, that is until Adam gets involved. Adamant that his granddad must celebrate his last night of freedom he rallies round the men of the street and they head of to the Rovers. Being surrounded by Deirdre’s past conquests Ken is the butt of jokes among Dev, Mike and Ray. Chesney is feeling homesick at the thought of moving to Spain to be with Cilla and Les. Roy and Hayley do their best to get him in the mood for Spanish life by helping him learn the language but Chesney becomes upset as he thinks his mum will never send for him. Angela continues to fuel the gossip amongst the factory girls and as Martin overhears their tittle-tattle he tearfully confronts them. While the rest of the girls quickly dismiss his outburst, Janice feels guilty and goes round to offer her apologies. Martin is quick to accept her apology and her offer of some company. Janice offers a shoulder to cry on as Martin breaks down about his relationship with Katy and its consequences. 8th April On the day that Prince Charles and Camila exchange their vows, this eagerly awaited episode sees two of Coronation Street’s best-loved characters cement a twenty-year relationship. Tying the knot for the second time, Ken and Deirdre are joined by friends and family as they declare their love for one another. As the big day arrives, the Barlow house is full of hustle and bustle and Ken is banished from the living room as his bride gets ready. Ray is baffled by Tracy’s behaviour with Nathan and tells Ken that he wants to go into a hospice after the wedding. As the wedding party begin to arrive at the registry office, everyone reminisces about their own past romances and the bride’s arrival is much anticipated. Much to Ken’s relief, Deirdre doesn’t keep him waiting for long and the ceremony gets underway without a hitch. Chesney has a plan up his sleeve as he searches the Croppers for pound coins, but he is being very secretive about what he is up to. All is revealed when Chesney takes Schmeichel to a photo booth, and somewhat hilariously tries to get him a passport photo. Nothing goes to plan as Schmeichel decides that modelling is not for him! But where is Chesney planning on taking him? 10th April The wedding is in full swing as the happy couple emerge from the registry office and head back to the Rovers Return for a typical Weatherfield knees up. Steve tries to get Louise out of the pub before Tracy arrives but they bump into her and Steve’s new woman tells Tracy she needs to move on with her life. But celebrations turn to heartbreak when Ray has his final dance with Tracy. Lena gets a shock at the garage when she finds Tyrone and Maria getting intimate. Being something that Tyrone would prefer to be kept from Kevin, Lena soon makes it all worth her while. Meanwhile, Chesney is downhearted when the photographs don’t turn out as planned. Time is running out, will Schmeichel get a passport in time? 11th April - 6000th Episode! Episode 1 Coronation Streets commemorative 6000th episode begins with a sombre feeling in the Barlows’ house. Tracy lays the table for breakfast as if nothing happened the night before. Ken and Deirdre enter the kitchen and are baffled by her odd behaviour. But after some gentle quizzing, Tracy begins to cry about the loss of dad Ray. Ken later decides to cancel the honeymoon as it’s simply not the right time, but Tracy insists they go and assures them that she can organise the funeral arrangements. But later on, after Tracy has visited the undertakers and Steve has returned Amy, she desperately tries not to cry in front of beloved Steve. Will Steve console her, or will he go to the Rovers where Louise is waiting for him? Elsewhere in Weatherfield, the rest of the residents are comforting each other after Ray’s sudden demise. Shelley sits on ‘Ray’s chair’ and asks Ciaran and Charlie to be sensitive with the customers today. Later on, in the corner shop, Charlie asks Sunita to be ‘nice’ to Shelley. Sunita takes the bait and visits the pub. Will Shelley and Sunita make friends or has Charlie driven a bigger wedge between them? Also, Danny and Leanne go for a bit to eat in the Clock restaurant. They talk openly about their past and enjoy each others company immensely. As the meal ends they giggly admit that if things were different, they could quite fancy each other! And as the residents enjoy their evening, a shadowy black cab pulls up outside number six. Why has depressed Katy come back to Coronation Street? 11th April - 6000th Episode! Episode 2 This moving episode begins with despondent Katy holed up inside the Harris household. She has pulled the curtains, and painfully looks over photographs of herself and the family in happier times – a family she feels she has now destroyed. She has clearly come back with suicidal thoughts, as she can’t handle the horrendous guilt she is harbouring after killing her dad. She smashes her insulin cartridges and gets out a bag of sugar, knowing that this lethal combination could kill her. But will she go through with suicide, or will she be found before it is too late? Over at the Platts’, Gail tries to boost Martin’s spirits by suggesting that it would be good for him to wake up in a house full of people, instead of his lonely flat. He agrees and feels much better the following day when he wakes up to the sound of his children. Later on, he explains to Sarah and Scooter that he was feeling very low which is why he stayed over. But they are disturbed by loud music belting out from next door. They all race round to the Harrises’ house as they know that the house should be empty. Will they find an unconscious Katy? Across the road at the Baldwins, Danny is unusually attentive towards wife Frankie. However, he lies about working late the other night instead of telling her about his cosy meal with Leanne. 13th April There is panic inside number six, when Scooter finds the smashed cartridges and then a letter, but shocked Martin insists that they don’t jump to conclusions and orders Scooter and Sarah out of the house to call an ambulance. Things don’t look good for poor Katy as she is whisked straight to intensive care, and a nurse warns Martin that she may have brain damage. He informs the nurse where Katy’s mum is and as soon as Angela is told by the prison governor, she is hysterical with worry and demands to see her daughter. Martin, devastated at what his ex-lover has done, tries to be optimistic and to be respectful to her, and decides not to open the suicide letter until she recovers. In the Rovers, Jamie, Warren, Leanne and Candice settle down for a drink. Warren excitedly tells them all that his manager has spotted two premiership football scouts watching him train. Leanne ridicules this, and slates Candice by suggesting that if he ever does make it big time he won’t want her tagging along! Steve is keen to see Louise again but her home is in Ireland with her son. She gently reminds him that he has ties in Weatherfield but could be back to see him soon. And during a posh meal, Fred finally wears Audrey down about the well, and she agrees to have the water tested. 15th April Katy is still unconscious but Martin is at her bedside. He decides he must go to visit Angela in prison. When he eventually gets to see her, she pleads with Martin to make her daughter happy by getting back with her. He refuses and starts to read Katy’s ‘The Truth’ letter. Angela is horrified and Martin demands some answers. But there is more worry when Craig arrives at number six desperately banging on the door and shouting for his sister. Gail and Audrey rush outside to see the traumatised teenager, and gently tell him that his sister is seriously ill in hospital. And at the Barlows’, Tracy is having problems assembling Ray’s flat-packed coffin. Blanche and Liz agree that it looks a bit ghoulish but Tracy insists that it is what her father wanted as it is cost effective. Later on, Tracy goes to the Kabin in search of plasters and finds Steve. He isn’t too keen on helping her with the coffin but suggests Charlie could help. Ashley is scathing about Fred’s chances of success and thinks his water bottling venture has more to do with getting closer to Audrey. But Fred insists the water is pure and drinks some to prove it! _________________________________ Looks to be fantastic

I don't think it's really exciting as everybody knew that Ray was bound to die.

well although we knew Ray would die doesn't mean the drama won't be good...not every story has to be a twist!!
Sounds very sad for the Harrises. And I'm no EE fan but was there any need to bring this into the conversation...? |
