Radio Two Breakfast Canditates

Once Mr Wogan decides to keep his dressing gown on in the mornings and hang-up his headphones. I think we may have a few presenter lined -up to take over from him.

Mark Radcliffe, Jonathan Ross, Chris Evans, Steve Wright and Richard Allinson.

I also think that a Pairing in the mornings may well work. Dermot and Davina McCall ?

I did think that Christain O'Connell could of been an idea, but he's off to Virgin Radio at the end of the year.

In the mean-time Tel is staying - and very popular, and it will be hard for someone to take over and still bring in 8 Million listeners.

Mark Radcliffe Chris Evans and Jonathan Ross would all be totally unacceptable in my book, not too sure about the other 2 either. Ken Bruce would be ok....

My choice would be Jonathan Ross but I have a feeling that Chris Evans has been earmarked for the slot and wouldn't be surprised to hear him covering Wogan's leave.

A couple of years ago I would have said Walker for the job but the old spark's not there now. I think the 'new' Evans is probably the man.

I must agree, I don't listen to Radio Two much, but tuned-in especially to hear Noel Edmunds, he is a real entertainer. Plus I find Jonny Walker a bit dull as a listen and had to re-tune when he was covering for Terry on breakfast last month.

I can't stand that crap outdated jingle he uses 'He's here, Johnny Walker, he's hot'! Ahhgrrr!

It would be nice to have Chris Tarrant on a national radio station. How about Neil Fox? or even Simon Mayo coming back music radio?

I don't think that Johnnie Walker is a serious contender anymore, after the recent ill health.
Steve Wright didn't work on breakfast on Radio One, because he recorded or worked on the show too much the night before and was out of date by the time it aired.
Chris Evans and Ross would be too much of a culture shock for Wogan listeners at that time of the day. Maybe after the next presenter, they could be an option.
Richard Allinson is a fantastic broadcaster, and would be very good on breakfast, as would Simon Mayo, but he has said he doesn't want to do music radio anymore, which I think is a really big shame.
Mark Radcliffe hated doing Breakfast on Radio One so i doubt he would take it.
However I think that Chris Tarrant could be a interesting choice. But will want to return to early morings?

Jonathan Ross was excellent when he filled in for Terry Wogan last year (or was it the year before?) but he would probably be a bit too much to take permanantly.

Chris Evans is a bit too "laddish" and up his own backside sometimes and he really crashed and burned on Virgin Radio. I'd go for "ooh Noelly" as he appears to do it effortlessly.

Tarrant would be fantastic. Or Dale winton, (don't laugh) he used to be excellent on Trent/Leicester Sound in the early- mid 80's.

Why not. AFAIK he is fully recovered. He does breakfast as a stand in. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he tops his career with a few years on the biggest show in the land.

How old is he?

I'd love Rossy to do another stint at covering Wogan, but wouldn't want him full time

Well I'm putting in my tuppence worth;
Johnnie Walker, No contest, The jocks jock, no I don't mean Scotsmen.
Poor second Chris Tarrant, who is extremley talented.
Noel Edmonds, who is also extremley talented

Ross, as in Johnathon is like Chris Evans, so far up his arse he believes in himself.

Mark Lamarr is doing a great job, and should take over from Mr Ross who in turn can go back to telly for me. His voice is annoying and his "Patter" Patronising in the extreme. Not a fan.

DLT Would be a bit of a coup.
How about Sarah Kennedy , or Alex Lester ,Bah boom tish!!
or failing that, Me, along with my mate George. We do a weekley broadcast on Classic VRN and if the money was right, we could extend it to a daily early morning show.

Hardly, he currently does Sunday morning a BBC local station.

Or are you trying to be funny?

Local as in not in Scotland?

How am I supposed to know, besides he can't do a national prog and a local one, No?

He used to do the Brekkie show on Radio one and then do a show on World service called "A Jolly Good Show", taking over from Noel Edmonds when he in turn went on to do Telly!!!

I say bring back Noel Edmunds, he's whitty, funny and just what people need to wake-up to in the mornings.

Kirsty Young could also be a contender?

I say lets have a pair presenting breakfast. I do think Dawn Patrol may disappear if Wogan goes run breakfast between 6-9.

If Radio Two will be the market leader then they will have to run the shows near enough similar?

Just ideas
