New Irish Channels - Sky

Channel 6/Six TV or whatever is was going to be called originally slated September for its launch. September has been and gone, and the website still has zilch but a logo. Does anyone know more?

Also does anyone have any information (from a reliable source) as to whether the City Channel has any plans to broadcast on satellite?

City Channel only have a licence to broadcast on NTL / Chorus cable / MMDS. AFAIK, they'd need a seperate licence from ComReg if they were to broadcast the channel onto satellite. So I doubt very much that we will see it on sky anytime soon - it's a pretty low budget operation and it would probably cost a considerable amount to get onto sky, cost which they probably wouldn't recoup.

They have an Ofcom licence for satellite.

City Channel, the new non-vapourware channel, did launch yesterday on cable, and have no plans for Sky, yet.
