Christmas Soap Spoilers
(Emmerdale sounds the worst)
EASTENDERS Alfie gets ready to leave, while Kat harbours hopes that her ex-husband will ask her along for the ride. Meanwhile, Dennis is unimpressed to be spending Christmas Day in hospital with Sharon. Things get strained when Johnny makes an appearance at their festive party, leaving the former barmaid to try and smooth the gangster and her husband's ruffled feathers. Taking this opportunity, Sharon suggests she and her partner leave the Square and troubles with Johnny behind. In light of recent events, it seems like a good idea, so they quit Walford to spend New Year's Eve with Vicki and decide what to do long term. Meanwhile, the feud between Phil and Scarlet's owner continues, with Johnny spotting a chink in the Mitchell brother's armour and, knowing he'd be no match for Phil physically, carries on his psychological persecution. Dennis can't help himself being drawn into the battle, which further makes his mind up as to what he should do next. Elsewhere, Rosie struggles to cope with having ex-husband Mike back in her life, but begins to see him in a different light, and Dawn finds out why Demi and Darren have had so much money recently. EMMERDALE The Dingles discover Belle is missing and launch a frantic search. Zak interrupts the Christmas morning church service and begs everyone to help, while Daz tries to remain optimistic as the water in the mineshaft begins to rise. The day proves almost as gloomy at the King's, where Tom learns Jimmy is thinking of committing suicide. Matthew, fearing for his position within the company, asks Sadie to run away with him. Jimmy then witnesses a moment of intimacy between his ex-wife and brother and suspects they are an item, but Tom is unconvinced by the accusation, and demands more proof. He doesn't have to wait long for that, with Matthew admitting all later in the week. His dad was preparing to hand over the firm to his second eldest son, but in light of this bombshell, delivers an ultimatum - end the relationship or leave Emmerdale for good. Sadie drowns her sorrows in the Woolpack, telling Edna all she wants is Matthew - but when the businessman says he can't trust her, she prepares to leave the village. Meanwhile, Ivan returns home and does his best to avoid Paul, Nicola can't resist humiliating Kelly over her choice of gift for Rodney, while Bob worries his children resent him for being an absent father. CORONATION STREET Christmas dinner at the Barlows' is spiced up when Steve and Liz arrive with their partners in tow - but Tracy's festive mood only begins when Charlie joins the celebrations. She has no such hesitations getting ready for New Year though, and totally forgets about daughter Amy, before trying to ruin the taxi boss's fun with her evil streak working overdrive. Mike enjoys having his family around him, but when he makes an embarrassing blunder Adam and Danny realise the extent of their father's illness. The latter worries about the future of the business with his dad struggling to keep on top of things and younger brother vying for his place in the hierarchy. Meanwhile, Frankie makes the most of single life, while step-son Jamie tries to come to terms with his feelings for her. However, he's also worrying about Carol's whereabouts. Elsewhere, Cilla and Les deep-fry their turkey, Claire gives Ashley a present to remember and Ronnie finds an unwanted present waiting for her in the Streetcars office. Over the road, Keith suspects Craig and Rosie are up to no good, but it's Kevin who catches his daughter and her young boyfriend in the act, while Jack makes a secret deal with Hilary. HOLLYOAKS Becca frantically gets dressed at the Taylor-Burtons' house and rushes home, worrying how Jake will react when she gets back to their flat. Luckily he's asleep and none the wiser of his wife's adultery. The teacher, however, is adamant her evening with her young lover was a mistake, and tells him her husband can never find out. However, Nancy arrives at her sister's with a drunken Justin in tow later in the week, and he's clearly ready to confess everything. OB and Max are pleased after their lock and key party, and make plans for New Year's Eve. They decide an events manager could add a little sparkle to proceedings, and set about interviewing newcomer Clare, who they immediately hire, but not without the coordinator asking some questions of her own. Max takes a shine to his new employee, so much in fact, that he forgets Tom's birthday. An upset Dominic returns to the Hutchinsons' flat, and his bad mood continues, while Mr Osborne berates Craig and Steph for lounging around the house on Boxing Day morning, so gives the lazy pair a long list of chores to complete. Sophie is worried when Mel disappears, and goes in search of her sister, knowing she's likely to be drunk. Could it be left for Sam to save the day? FAMILY AFFAIRS The residents of Charnham are getting ready for their final week on screen as the show comes to a close. There's high drama in the Costello household as usual, with Gary feeling uncomfortable keeping his wife's cancer a secret from Melanie - as does Myra, who eventually tells her everything. Chrissy learns the baby is fine, but she has to undergo more tests to see if the cancer has spread. Meanwhile, Yasmin announces she's in love with Damian, and adopts an elegant new look to impress the cleric. Hester tells Katie the day is the anniversary of Rex's wife's death, and the barmaid suspects her new lover killed his other half, but is later convinced otherwise. Hector is suspended from duty for George's mistake, and Meredith admits to falsifying the patient records to save her bumbling friend. The latter then gives her colleague an ultimatum - confess her blunder or let Hector take the blame. News of this spiteful idea gets around, and it's soon clear Meredith has burned her bridges with her friends and is left out in the cold. Jason tries to persuade Coral to lend Eve her wedding dress for Doug's party, and Tony tries to convince Cat that Doug doesn't really love her, while Coral is relieved to be rid of Roxanne - but finds her sister has left a surprise for her. |
