Naked Celebrity

Dont worry, this isnt a thread about Rick Waller in the nuddy... (hah, thats a few sunday dinners ruined )....

I was wondering if anyone watched the second series of Naked Celebrity on Channel Five at about 11pm on Friday night?

As its a new series, I taped it and very very interesting it was too. For those who havent seen it before, it shows footage of celebrities and a Psychologist interprets their body language.

The hour long programme ranged from Celebs who use body language to make themselves look more aggressive such as the swagger, the "bowlegged" arms, jutting chins and pointy fingers - a la Liam Gallagher and Jay Kay (who was SUCH an arsehole in the clip they showed).

The most interesting part of the programme though was the "Tom Cruise Spontaniety Spot" - it showed Tom Cruise meeting crowds of fans, posing on the red carpet with Nicole and then Katie Holmes this year....

With both Katie and Nicole, it shows that every tiny detail is planned by Tom. As he and Nicole posed on the red carpet for the paps, his arm was round her waist. It showed in slow motion, him giving her two taps with his fingers, so she turned and they kissed, two taps on the back again and they stopped kissing, they posed again and then two taps and he and Nicole appeared to move as one into the theatre.

As the Psychologist says their supposed spontaniety was anything but !

The footage of Tom with Katie Holmes was telling. The Psychologist picked up on the fact that Katie isnt quite as in Tom's thrall as he would like, looking distinctly uncomfortable as he whispers in her ear what they will be doing for the paps, then giving her a signal he pulls her toward him, she hesitates and he says (there are subtitles at this point), "you dont have to if you dont want to...." but at the same time his hand grabs the back of her head and pulls it toward him giving her little chance to refuse the kiss.

She then looks even more uncomfortable about the whole thing with a smile that never quite reaches the eyes.

The programme was extremely interesting and Im praying the Psychologist delves into the ludicrous "prancing pony" act that Victoria Beckham unleashed on the world when she and Becks attended a premiere just after the Loos scandal broke.

Try and catch the programme if you can.

I havent seen this show - but i blummin wish i had. It sounds like my kind of thing.

I love what you said about Tom and Nicole / Katie. Everyone can see that he manipulates people, so its nice to hear an 'expert' say the same thing.

I must try and tune in this Friday.

This show sounds very interesting - shame I can't get Five.

As for Victoria Beckham after the whole Rebecca Loos thing, remember when she and David appeared somewhere (probably a premiere) and she was all over him? How obvious was that? Plus, from the moment those revelations came out, Victoria always smiled in photographs - before she was mean and moody with her poutyness - and after, she's all smiles, trying to fool us all that things are hunkydory in her marriage... No psychologists needed.

Yes I thought it was really good, Kitty. I shall be deffo watching this week, as well. The Tom Cruise bit was very, very revealing. The psychologist (isn't she from BB?) was very bitchy, too, which gave it an extra frisson.

*rubs hands in glee at prospect of next programme*

Thanks for the 'heads up' Kitty, sounds right down my street too. I shall be watching. What a shame I missed the first parts. Perhaps they'll be repeated some time.

I thought I recognised her from somewhere !!

Its amazing isnt it that when they show something in ultra slow motion and point out the bits you miss? Im still gobsmacked at the "Tom Cruise Spontaniety Show" which wasnt. She ripped him to pieces.

Incidentally, was it only me applauding the photographer when he finally cracked and headbutted Jay Kay? Jay Kay's arrogance, aggression and swaggering went on for at least ten minutes, showing him yelling and poking his finger into a female photographers face, until he was well and truly brought down to size.

Ive definitely seen the first series repeated, so I guess this one will be too.

I hope that this weeks programme is as good as the first.

No, but Im going to tune in (Ive read what its all about and cant help think that if they are fooled right up until the end and then the "joke" is revealed, someone is going to get their face punched. )

Tonights Naked Celebrity programme was great, but I wont discuss any part of it until you have seen it, as you mightve recorded it.

I will say this though, the "Beckham Section" was rivetting and confirms everything everyone has been saying both on here and in the newspapers !

I cannot believe I freaking forgot to record it! I was watching that knackered old Michael Caine movie 'Dressed to Kill' instead - what a freaking disaster! I'm gonna put it on series link so I won't forget. What did it say, Kitty?

I'd completely forgot all about this programme and was doing some channel hopping when I came across it, it just happened to be when the Beckhams were being discussed. It's amazing that 'he' wears the trousers in the relationship now and she's very insecure and looks very uncomfortable posing with him. I found the bit when he literally forgot she was there and went to talk to some reporters (it was about the World Cup) and she was stood behind him fidgeting for england.

Wish I'd seen all the programme as I found what I did see very interesting. Would like to know what this psychologist makes of Abi Titmuss?

*wails* Nooooooooooo Noooooooooo Pantssssssssssss Noooooooooooooooooooo !!!! It was SO good !!!!

They showed the Beckhams early on in their relationship, where David is all downcast eyes and shy (very princess Di I thought lol), and Posh is just SOOOO in charge !! She was at the height of her Spice Girls fame and it was like watching a completely different person ! They showed loads of footage, in slow motion, and you could visibly see the change. David's confidence is supreme toward the end and she is relegated to the ranks, fiddling with her hair and face, doing "self comfort" gestures.
At the CBE ceremony they were interviewed about the rumours about their marriage and it was so cringemaking to watch as she eagerly looked into his face for affirmation of what she was saying (ie. we are happy, we are not getting divorced)..... she got absolutely zilch from him. They showed it three times and each time I just felt so incredibly sorry for her.
The "prancing pony" act was shown, where they psychologist remarked on all the possessive touching by VB but not DB who just seemed bemused.

They touched on Jordan and Peters weddiing - which was so gloriously tacky I nearly spat out my drink, and an interview with them where she made one of her frequent crude, common comments about him "not shooting inside her, but then they got careless and she got preggers"........ his facial expressions, disgusted gestures were all there to see, in lovely sloooooooowwww motion ....

Elton John was shown to be an aggressive, spoiled little troll with my-partner-david-furnish shown to be the peacemaking other half, who frequently softened any outburst with a nice pleasant smile...

I actually recorded this to watch it twice, it was so interesting.

I really hope its repeated, Pantsy Pops, you wouldve loved it !!!!

I agree - a fascinating programme. This would be interesting relating to ordinary people too and not just celebs - body language is SO revealing! The part about Angelina Jolie was interesting - she is very adept at being a celeb on show with all the "right" facial expressions but even she can't hide it all the time! (A bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing if you ask me.)

Loved the bit at the film premiere where she realised Colin Farrell had ignored her, so she punched his arm, batted her eyelashes, reeled him in and then just dismissed him

I think her body language showed she is incredibly sexually manipulative and in my opinion, will get bored of Brad Pitt after a year or so... she appears to enjoy playing mind games.
Incidentally how grotesque was Billy Bob Thornton?

Tarnation - it sounds like an absolute corker of an episode! All the stuff about Posh is highly revealing - we've all suspected he has gradually taken control, and it's nice to have it confirmed!

Girls you crack me up. What has been confirm? The tabs and this psycholgist body *trucmuche chouette* (its' a cool french expression ) work on close collaboration so i doubt this psychologist is going to contradict what the tabs said first. Be logical without watching it, i could found out what she/he reveal on that docu.

But what has NOT been reveal it's how this person got pay for her work , did she has a secret contract/pact with the channel , how many people turn out the channel to watch it and why did they try to get the public to suscribe to the frenzy and madness the press create around alot of celebrity couples? Why did we think that the celebs are special persons while they are probably the sad image of the boring people in an extravagant world and we watch them with exasperation and laugh at what a human being look like when he becomes obsessed with his own image and forget to just take life easily and let their hair down, just stay relax and normal.

THEN like this that's will be interesting thing to watch i think

The thing is, Ninny, which I guess you won't appreciate being in France, is that the show is broadcast on one of our most prestigious channels, Channel Five, which is renowned for it's journalistic integrity, intellectual documentaries and public broadcasting ethics. So I believe everything Dr Pam says on it.

Really channel 5 is prestigious in Uk, isn't that channel making crappy reality tv show or its' another one ?

You know the prestige or number of readers , watchers don't make necesarely quality and veracity, its' just popular, well known and very promoted and quoted around .

Ps: i wasn't saying that doctor said all lies but there is a lot of public awareness and belief in that kind of docu. I watch in France a lot of investiagtion , it's serious with intellectual people but it's aberrant what they conclude at times, or at least it's how i get it i'm sure some public opinion agree with it .

I think its' the belief on something , some moral or ethic which make the difference , if you chosed to believe on something very strongly then you can make up a lot of things and beileve a lot of stuff to strengten your opinion on a subject (that's what i learn on philosophy this year at school )

*chortles* Oh No, Ninny! The channel that makes crappy reality shows is Channel 4. Haven't you heard, they've got ten thick people and are pretending to launch them into space at the moment? THAT'S the rubbish channel!
