Sky Sports News - transmitting SS1

The Channel is rebroadcasting the Gillette Soccer Special feed from SS1.

It's being transmitted with the Sky Sports 1 dog and in Widescreen (however the WS Flag isn't right)

Is it just the one programme that it will be showing?

make the most of it

is it a mistake in the feeds or is it because they want to show this programme to non sky sports subscribers & freeviewers?

Agreed ...

BUT

1. It doesn't have a Sky Sports 1 DOG on it
and
2. It's not usually transmitted in Widescreen (however it's now back to 4:3)

hmm, if it is normally broadcast on SSN without using the SS1 feed, they might have pressed the wrong button or might have decided to "switch feeds" for the programme...

it's the same on the Sky EPG slot for SSN...

guess we'll have to wait until 14:00 which is when the programme finishes and see what happens then

Perhaps Sky Sports news has shut up shop for xmas and we are going to get sports one

Digiguide has no listings for SSN until 31/12

An early xmas present from Sky

that would be sweet if it did

could be the case though, seems odd that the feeds would switch when they dont normally when that programme is on...

SSN are transmitting as scheduled, this is just the one programme which was shown on SS1 earlier today. Obviously they can't be bothered to remove the DOG.

Sky Sports 1 & Sky Sports News (401 & 408) are exactly the same on the Sky EPG. Same programme, same "sync" and same adverts.

It's the same situation on the satellite version of SSN, I doubt it's a mistake.

I was aware of the programming - the essential differences from the Normal were

1. The programme was presented with a Sky Sports 1 Dog rather than a Sky Sports News one.
and
2. argueably more significant in 16:9 widescreen for the first half hour - the first time that 16:9 has been used (apart for commercials in the last few weeks) in programming on the channel.

and not forgetting: the SS1 feed shown on Freeview Ch. 83 & Sky Ch. 408 was exactly the same as the SS1 feed shown on Sky Ch. 401. the ads were the same too. therefore, for the duration of the programme, Sky must have "turned off" the SSN feed and "switched" the SS1 feed over to temporarily replace it...
