Looking into Jodie...
I feel the need to look into her, or at least list all the aspects of her character that arn't right for the fame game or celebrity. A lot are revelations from last nights Burns & Barrymove vs. Marsh.
(Everything said is just opinion based on her actions and words within the house. It's all opinion and I don't see it as fact, just close to the truth.) When Jodie entered the house, she was clear that she wanted to both stop the negative press the tabloids have been printng about her, as well as show people the real her. Within hours of being in the house, the negative Jordon references started coming out (due to booze partly) as well as her constant mentioning of all the bad things the press and Jordon have said about her. Pete last night told her that she should have kept her mouth closed, and he was right. All she has done is drawn attention to herself and her bad points, as well as reinforce the character that the press has created of her. Jodie also constantly talks about and physically depicts sex which ultimately also reinforces the tabloids views on her 'slapper' character. This is usually brought about by booze. I would say that the reason she is so sexually orientated and fixated on it is because she believes that to be sexually attractive (by both sexes) is to be liked, accepted, and ultimately not bullied. To me she see's sexual attractiveness as character attractiveness. She openly admitted last night that she doesn't think before she speaks, and that she will be honest and say what she feels. She also said she's not aware of the cameras that much and she acts as if she's at home. From the outside, most would approve and commend this attitude, however, Jodie has taken it to extremes (with the sexual prowess and the open self-pity). There comes a point where you have to stop before you speak and refrain from saying exactly how you are feeling otherwise you will be ripped to threads by observers. To me, Jodie seems to be stuck in this loop hole of feeling right in her honest and open convictions yet not comprehending what the negative consequences of that honesty can be. Pete also mentioned last night that she desperately wants to be the boss and tries to take charge just as a bully might. I think he's onto something else here. Perhaps her experiences as a child have created this counter-bully as an offence to both her pain and her feelings of weakness in the schoolyard that she still hasn't shaken at 27. This is backed up by her constant interuptions when others are speaking, and not allowing them to finish what they are saying. In her defence, she says she interupts because she doesn't want to lose her train of thought and needs to get it out there right then. She attacks Jordon and uses the BB platform as a way of doing this without any reaction from the woman in question or the public. She feels safe in BB because no one can get to her, but she can get to them. There is also the part of her that is constantly thinking about publicity, good press, and the BB cameras. Last night she said: 'I'd love to make it up with Jordon and/by do/ing a full centerfold spread with me and her making up and do a whole article and stuff'. This, I think, just reaffirms the above and proves that her mind is constantly in the media zone. She mentioned in a slightly earlier chat with Barrymore last night that from the age of 5 she has wanted to be a Page 3 model, ever since she sneaked a peak at her aunts Sun. She said she finds glamour models the most beautiful people in the world and that she was too short and curvey to be a catwalk model. I personally don't think that she decided this at five years of age and in fact her decision probably came later on during her major bullying days. Her body language, comments and attitude last night was very very childish. It reminded me of when I was 10 and having mini fights over the lunch table. Pete and Barrymore semi convinced Jodie that she can't deal with confrontation or a difference of opinion, and she reacts to that difference with childish replies and blocked ears. They indirectly pointed out that to be in the public eye is to face adversity and differences of opinion and that she ultimately needed to grow up and listen to that difference instead of shunning it away instantly. She hasn't understood (as Pete rightly pointed out) that the image she has created for herself is not the same as her personality or inner being, and that when the media attacks her image, she shouldn't let it get to her inside. Part of fame is being able to take what the papers and others say with a pinch of salt and let it fly over your head. Jodie can't seem to understand this. She reads the exact tabloids and teen magazines that attack her obsessively (she says to find some good positive uplifting stories), yet all she is doing is helping this vicious cycle to continue. Jodie reads tabloids, tabloids print largely rubbish, Jodie reacts publically, tabloids print more rubbish which Jodie reads. Why she is doing all this, to me, is clear: She feels that (sexual) fame equates to being liked, and if one's liked, one is less likely to be bullied. It seems it's all stemmed from a severely deep-rooted self esteem issue which ties in heavily with the childhood bullying and she unfortunatly hasn't grasped that to be in the public eye is to be both liked and disliked. Personally, I don't really mind her. I think she has a warmheart and generally good intentions. It's just some aspects of her character frustrate me, as all she needs to do to stop all this is to stop reacting to negative press and stop letting that press go straight to heart as well as to lay off the booze in public which is the clear catalyst to her overt sexual prowess. To me, she needs to do this, and understand why she needs to do this as well as make a start at sorting out/delving into her past baggage which is the fuel to all her current actions and ambitions! -- Also - I am not saying Pete or Barrymore are 100% right in everything they were saying, nor am I saying they don't have a whole set of issues themselves. I am just thinking about Jodies situation and character because it's the most discussed and it was the subject of last nights controversy and the reason for the arrisal of a house divide. There is a lot more from last night, and I may add this when it becomes clearer to me. Everything above isn't particularly structured and I apologise for that. It's all mainly a reference for me to remember and look back on and for any of you to comment/add/subtract/disagree. Thoughts? |

She clearly is far too ignorant, another telling comment was "everyone in life gives me advice, but do I ask them for it", a clear sign millions have tried and failed. She didn't even show us her good side first even Makosi played it nice for the first week. This shows a full lack of manners, she really must go.

Blimey Tre, are you a shrink???? I think she IS being bullied to an extent because she bites so quickly and the others have cottoned on to that. This makes good viewing PLUS always puts her in a bad light, therefore putting them in a good light. Thus ensuing votes for the others, they're not daft are they?

I think there was one other reason for her behaviour that Pete mentioned. I'm finding it increasingly frustrating to watch her. The answers are right there, she just needs help building the self awareness to grasp them. What she doesn't need is Michael Barrymore screaming them at her. |

I could fully support that Sam was bullied in BB6, but this with Jodie this holds no water at all she is provoking people, bad mouthing them and then expecting them to be warm to her, she is god awful. |

But she will never change her life-style. She currently makes good money/fame, she won't throw that away.
As I said yesterday, Jodie is the type of person who wants the good bits of fame but without the cons. Unfortunately for her, celebrity doesn't work that way. |

I think you make some good points, tre. However, I think her overt sexual behaviour is intended to shock, in order to get the attention she desperately craves, rather than to make her liked. I think she is basically a nice person, but she seems to have a death wish - she's destroying herself in there.

I can totally see why Barrymore did flip because he overheard that conversation where Marsh was running him down. The way he reacted probably didn't do him any favours, but Jodie has made a concerted effort to isolate him without giving him a chance she is a nasty piece of work.

Shes an ill educated girl who doesn't appear to have the skills to cope with people outside her own social circle, and refuses to take advice from anyone. She said she was going on the show to show the public the real her, and prove she wasn't like the negative perception people have of her......every time she opens her mouth she not only confirms them, she proves they've probably actually made her look better than she is. |

Excellent post tre, I watched a lot of what happended last night, just happened to wake up at the right time, I would just add when telling Chantelle about some of the conversation this morning she made out Michael had said something about the fame task which he clearly didn't (mainly his reaction to how she behaved), it made me think she had to prove that whatever was said she was right leading me to think she takes no advice on board.

Here she is demonstrating it again now
Sitting down opposite Preston: "I'm just jealous, cause i'd happily eat all of them myself" It's all... me,me,me Doesn't even think to ask Preston, whether he likes chocolate or not. Has anyone ever heard Jodies ask anyone else how they were doing, or how are they feeling? |

I think you summed Jodie up pretty well and my feelings about her.
I would also say that when someone has been a victim , unless she deals with issues ie her bullying at school, then she will continue to BE the victim.I think therefore I am as the saying goes. The tabloid press reinforce the low opinion she has about herself. I also agree that she desperately needs attention and to be liked, forgetting that the overtly sexual behaviour she displays actually makes people dislike her. She is a very emotionally insecure young woman. I personally think she needs some help or she is going to have a breakdown. I genuinely worry for her Mental Health if she leaves on Friday and gets booed by the crowd, but I don't think she should be in the house. I don't dislike Jodie (although I could cheerfully wring her neck sometimes). But I do wish she could see what she is doing. |

Hang on a sec, I haven't seen every episode so far but from what I have seen I think she is an easy target BECAUSE she bites so easily, like I said before. I'm not sticking up for her because after last nights carry on with Dennis and Preston, I couldn't believe my eyes and ears and the comments about eskimos having shops etc. was a classic BUT they are picking on her because she can't handle a debate, she isn't clever enough. AND THEY KNOW THIS and should just ignore it, she's not worth arguing with. They are trying to make themselves come across as educated and clever, but then we all know they're smarter than her anyway, so why bother???? It makes the others look desperate for approval and votes to even get drawn into it, in my opinion of course. If they want to discuss politics or have heated debates properly then just don't involve her. Let her drink her wine and enjoy mucking about with the lads.

"It would be great if me & Jordan were friends, we could do shoots together and earn a fortune" I think that was just before the time Pete & Mike gave up - that confirmed to them she was all about 'me, me, me'. |
