If Preston and his girlfriend have had talks about having a baby, I would imagine that their relationship is at a pretty advanced stage.
She must be hurting from what she's seeing on screen right now. And he must be aware that he may well be hurting her pretty badly.

Surely as a guy in a band he's had temptation cross his path before, though maybe not with as long extensions, but he's no fool. Preston knows what his relationship with Chantelle looks like to us, the great unwashed Public, and he also knows that his band need the boost of publicity. I believe the Ordinary Boys sales have sky-rocketed so maybe his girlfriend knew to expect him to pull out all the stops to succeed.

But we dont know their relationship- I do feel for his girlfriend and would not like to be in that position but I dont think preston is setting out to hurt her..... It must be very hard being stuck 24/7 with other people and not realising everything you do is being analysed.
