Ive finally make the hairdressing appointment, gulp!!

I started a thread last night about being fed up with my hair but I wasnt brave enough to go ahead and change it.
I had some wonderfull replies which convinced me that I should go for it.
WELL TODAY I DID!!!
I took myself off to the city centre in Manchester, called in 4 different salons and asked their advice and thank the Lord they all said similar.
So this Friday morning at 10am I am taking the plunge and going from bleached blonde to a chesnut brown(with just a few highlights)and a totally different style, keeping my length to the bottom of my neck but with a totally different look.
It will cost £125 altogether and I pray it will be worth it.
Im sweating right now just thinking of it but now the appointments made there is no going back.
From trashy to classy, and to hell with it,a brand new wardrobe to match!!.
Thanks ever so much for all your advice ladies(and even men),once I have had it done then I will post a before and after picci ,Im breaking out in a cold sweat just thinking of it but theres no going back now,a new me!!!!
Many thanks everyone for your advice!!

Wow, I'd be sweating too for that money. My haircuts cost me a fiver!

No but seriously, good luck, hope it turns out just how you want and you will be thrilled with your new appearance.

I went from very blonde back to my natural darker colour and it was the best thing I did. You can't keep colouring your hair so dramatically, it's not good for it and it's a great opportunity to buy a whole new wardrobe and change your make-up.

Me too Pamela. I've always been blonde and went into the hairdressers before Xmas and there was a mum and her daughter who had their hair done in one of the nicest colours I've seen in some time. It was like chestnut, purple (I know that sounds crazy, but it was beautiful...like a lilac) and blonde tints.

They were both blonde before and I thought ...go for it girl.

I haven't regretted it as everyone has passed comment on how much nicer it looks.

Good luck and I am sure it will turn out great. if you've ever sene any of those make-over shows you'll know that they OFTEN tone down blonde to brown or some darker shade and it ALWAYS looks fabulous! I bet you will look dead sophisticated when you do it.

You know 99% of my life I've had a dark brown bob but about 2 years ago i decided tog row my hair long before I was 30, just because I'd never had long hai. I did it nad it took a long time to get used to but now I love it. ANd before Christmas I did what I've always wanted to do and died my hair fire engine red too! Everyone said it suited me, sadly it's not going to last much longer cos it fades so quickly and needs to be redone so often it's knackering my hair. BUt my point is, generally with hair Go for it!

I need to make an appointment at the hairdressers. I haven't been to one for 12 years (it gotten very long recently), so I'm not sure what to expect, cost wise.
What does a gent's haircut cost these days?

Depends if it's a hairdresser or barber. Men's barber I'd say between £5-8, hairdresser maybe around £20. ? Though my friend's brother got a fauz hawk and it cost £70!

Well I should think so! I cut most of my friends hair for free or a fiver, and could do that cut pretty easily. I am staggered my friend paid £70 for it - more money than sense IMO.

Yes I promise before and after piccis once Friday arrives.
I keep looking at photographs on how I look when I go out all dolled up and my hair looks nice, its the days when I just put it up in a pony tails and you can still see my roots which has finally got to me.
Im 100% certain I wont back out, besides I told my freinds at work today and the majority say go for it,strangly its the men who say keep it blonde?
Determined to become a classy chick once Friday arrives!!!!

Mind me asking where your getting it done?

I know a great hairdresser in Manchester. He's called James and runs the salon in Harvey Nichols. He used to work in my local Toni & Guy but he's moved up in the world!
