itv Play launching 31st March

I just thought you may like to know that itv Play will be launhing on March 31st 2006 and not on the 1`9th Apiral as reported on the broadcasting section on this very site .

I found this out when onn itv1 they were advertising that itv Play will be launching on the 31st March.

Is itv Play replacing Men & Motors on dtt (Freeview)?

And what lcn will itv Play have on dtt (Freeview)?
If itv Play does replace Men & Motors on dtt (Freeview) will it have lcn 35?

And I know that I have said this before buit I think that Men & Motors should be closed down on all digital platforms and itv4 should be made 24 hours on Mux 2. All Men & Motrors programes would move over to itv4.

itv Play should time shear with Citv and broadcast from 6pm to 6am. Citv and itv Play would move to mux D

I don't mind that itv have made a quiz channel and are going to launch it on dtt (Freeview).

But what I don't like (and I am sure that I am not alone only this) is that itv are giving there new quiz channel the better broadcasting hours than itv4. I feel that itv4 should get the better broadcasting hours and not itv Play.

If itv4 when 24 hours on all digital platforms then it would give itv far more possibilities. For example itv showed the qulifying for the Malaysian grand prix live on itv3 on Saturday morning. Well I thought that itv was suposed to be a drama and classic comedy channel .

If only itv4 had been broadcasting for 24 hours then itv would hae been able to show the qulifying for the Malaysian grand prix live on itv4 were it would not have look out of place like I feel it did on itv3.

This is how it would look:

MUX 2
itv4 24 hours

MUX D
Citv 6am to 6pm
itv Play 6pm to 6am

Close down on all digital platforms
Men & Motors

I don't think ITV4 has enough material to go 24 hours even if there was room.

ITV have a massive, massive archive - they could fill the ITV4 schedules with ease if they wanted to.

They could at least show reruns of Budgie, Manhunt, Upstairs Downstairs, Out of Town, Gerry Anderson's shows. Loads of Western series from the 60s that i grew up with. The Untouchables, The FBI, Mod Squad, Honey West, and best of all I'd like to see Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. (Nobody under 40 will understand this message). They could even fit in that Robinson Crusoe we saw every year in the 60s - and what about White Horses? (I'll get my coat).
