LIVE - TOP 5 - America Votes (spoilers)
Hey again!
As always I'll begin with the stats from DialIdol. I was good this week, I never checked them until this evening! Imagine my nonsurprise with Taylor still ranked at 1-3 1-3 Taylor Hicks 26.01 1-3 Chris Daughtry 25.954 1-4 (B3) Elliott Yamin 23.721 3-5 (B3) Katharine McPhee 22.467 4-6 (B3) Kellie Pickler 19.421 5-6 (B3) Paris Bennett 17.36 As you can see the girls dominate the bottom 3, with Elliott in the zone also.... LIVE Here we go again! Who will go home?? (stupid promo!) Ryan - Last night was all about romance, Who melted your heart and who left you cold....? Who the hell writes this crap! lol - as the camera pans the 6 finalists... Last night was a new record. 47,500,000 million votes cast! WOW! AND IT'S NOT EVEN THE FINALE!! Apparently a lot of people complained to Fox over Simons comments last night.... Simon addresses and apoligizes to Katherine for his comments!!! He claims he watched it back and realized his comments were unfair and she never received the right appraisal!....as does Randy!! I'm really surprised this was addressed!!! We now have a recap of last night show...including all the bitchy comments again from Simon! lol Commercial Yay, this weeks Ford commercial is Blondies 'Call Me'...great tune!! Andrea Bocelli and David Foster have taken to the stage. Andrea believed all the idols were great. Ryan talks to David about being tough on the contestants. Andrea sings 'Because We Believe'...a beautiful song...(I do have this album!) Commercial Lisa Tucker is in the audience! Ryan talks with her...of-course this is just to promote her appearance on tomorrow nights OC! (I have never watched this show!!) Breaking the 6 into 3 groups of 2 ??? (Not again!!!) Katherine - Far side of the stage Elliott - Middle of the stage Kellie - Near side of the stage Paris - Near side of the stage (w/ Kellie) Taylor - Middle of the stage (w/Elliott) Chris - Far side of the stage (w/Katherine) One group contains the top 2 One group the bottom 2 One the middle of the pack Elliot and Taylor have a seat - YOU ARE SAFE! Commercial The contestants are on the stage with Ryan...both groups on either side Chris and Katherine SIT - YOU ARE SAFE "You guys had the highest votes!!!" WTF!! YAY!!!!! Bottom 2 at a glance! Paris Kellie "Kellie thankyou, but tonight it is the end for you...... " Paris is safe KELLIE IS OUT!!!! OK, I am surprised!! Dial Idol got it wrong!! (with the top 2) Kellie's exit is hilarious! She takes it in true Kellie spirit!! We have her journey to a new and improved mix of Dan Powters 'Bad Day' ...about time I was getting bored with the original!! I have to say it is damn good knowing, Taylor didn't top last night! He didn't deserve to!! Next weeks theme...I don't know what to call it! The contestants will be performing 2 songs each, one from the year they were born, the other a song currently in this weeks billboard chart. This wasn't mentioned on the show, but I watched Nigels interview earlier. That's it for another week. I'll be back next week. Enjoy - Steph

I'm glad Simon (and Randy) apologized to Katherine and glad that the announcement was relatively painless this week.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact she was one of the top 2 vote getters this evening? But what we do know is Katherine didn't deserve the comments, and I for one, happy he addressed it! Steph! |

Don't take my comment about Taylor too seriously, I actually don't mind him, but in no way did he deserve to be top 2...whether fact or fiction!! Steph |

Thanks once again Steph - I wasn't going to read but then I JUST HAD TO! Plus I wanted to read before someone spoilt it for me anyway...
I'm really glad Kellie is out and Paris is safe - I think Paris is incredible. I think Paris and Elliott are on dodgy ground though - they don't seem to have the support of the others - but I couldn't have asked for a better top 5 this year. America has some truly fantastic talent. Do we go to two songs per person next week? Any idea of the theme? |

Aww probably fair, but it's still sad to see Kellie go
![]() I'm pleased Chris and Katharine were the top 2 - if they really were. I couldn't bear to see Taylor win. |

Thanks for the results Steph.
I wonder if Simon`s apology had more to do with the fact he`s worried about Katharine`s sudden popularity being due to sympathy votes over his comments? I`m virtually certain he wants Chris to win this year. Something has happened because Simon rarely apologises. The last contestant that I remember he apologised to was Will Young - and that, of course, was years ago! Am glad Kellie has finally gone. Hopefully it will be Paris or Taylor next.

I think that was the right result - Kellie is the weakest singer, in my view. I also think Simon's apology was made because Katherine now looks like a contender for the prize. Perhaps she had the higest number of votes.

Thanks for posting! First time I've ever viewed a 'spoiler' for A.I! It's great how you managed to put together the entire show in one post. As the Americans would say it.....'Grrreat jahhb'
Just wanted to clear this thought I have about 'theme' weeks. It's made me wonder whether they have these 'themes' as they may already know who the weakest vocalists are. |

I thought they were really harsh on Katherine this week, but that didn't seem to harm her votes. I didn't think much to Elliott, but seems everyone else did.
Taylor I just thought was awful, but he can do no wrong it seems in the voting public's eyes. Paris was good I thought, as was Chris. Poor Kelly - her second bad performance in two weeks. It was inevitable that she went this time, she had her second chance. She took it in good grace, and after stopping and being told she had a further 40 seconds spoke non stop righ up to the credits. Whilst her departure was inevitable, she has done her self no harm in the public's eye. Cheery and sweet right to the end, taking everything with good grace, I reckon she has a big career ahead of her, whether as a presenter or singer I don't know - but in some form. |

So glad Katharine is safe, and so happy ( if a little surprised) she was in the top two. But if a lot of people complained about Simon's comments last night then a lot would've also voted for her.
I can't believe Simon apologised though. Like you said Steph, he often says that performances weren't as good watching them back, but not the other way round. I was actually wondering last night if that could happen, because I didn't think she was that bad AT ALL and I was surprised how harsh the comments were. Did Ryan apologise for his comment about listening to her with the volume off? Not sorry Kellie has gone in terms of her singing but I always enjoyed her talking and personality so I'll miss that. |

Pickler's exit speech was great!
Looks like Paris next week though. Didn't anyone tell Elliot's fan that the spelling on his sign was wrong? He was holding it again on the results show. It's the one that reads something like "Climb abord the E train",with aboard spelt wrong. |

About time Kellie left she was nowhere near as good as the others left and she shouldn't even have gotten this far in my view.
Glad to hear about Simon's apology although if you ask me it looked uncomfortable and scripted and Paula didn't seem to happy about having to make it. Kat & Chris in the top two is the fantastic at least we know now they have a shot against Taylor and he isn't running away with it

Wow oh my god!
I knew kellie deserved to go but i never thourght for a second she would. Funny that the weakest singer elimination from the competion is a shocker. Really glad simon and randy told katharine there bad comments were unfair, it wasnt the best songs for her but i did think she pulled it off and got away with it and it felt like they really went for her which felt weird. Ive got a feeling kellies elimination is going to work in kat's favour, shes starting to look like the kimberley locke figure comming up on the outside. |

And guess what place Kimberley Locke came!
I think Katharine has a good chance of winning this now. She may pick up the Pickler votes so she's certainly in with a chance. |
