Barrymore's career revival

Seems to have bitten the dust? I have not seem him since the ill fated FN Project. I was told by many on here that he was set to reclaim the Saturday night audiences. What happened and what is he upto?

He still ain't playing out the Hilter gags is he

The Stuart Lubbock case has reopened so maybe he's not allowed to make an official comeback until further investigations have been made?

Or maybe he's just been eclipsed by the success of Prestelle?

If it was a proper well thought out programme it would take 6-12 months to hit the screens, I suspect he is aiming a bit higher than the sort of cobbled together E4 show Chantelle is happy with.

Apparently none of the major channels are interested in him. Not even ITV who are pretty desperate right now.

He wants. But they don't want him. The head of CH4 (forgot his name) was quoted in 'Broadcast' magazine saying they are not in talks with Barrymore and have no plans to in the future. They probably saw the FNP he hosted.

I have summerised the rules in anyones abscence...

A - If you don't like Barrymore you are an idiot who believes any tabloid story and a thoroughly nasty piece of work to boot.

B - You do like Barrymore you are sane. Well done..ha ha ha...your jokes are very witty as well...

He's Anne Robinson's guest stooge on a future episode of 'The Weakest Link'. Appearing alongside his fellow CBB star, Chantelle.

No other sightings I'm pleased to say. He & his cheesey act belong in the dustbins of TV history.

It will be one of those, for sure. Barrymore has always been a complete stranger to original material.

As I was reading through this thread, that's exactly what I was imagining in my head before I even got to your post.

I imagine he'll be doing the just generally fannying about thing, pulling cables out of microphones and falling all over the place like an idiot....

..To which Anne Robinson will ask him "What do you actually do for a living?"

In the people last Sunday.

The 53-year-old entertainer looked fit and well and says he has a C4 talk show lined up as well as a £1million offer for an autobiography.

Big Brother finished in mid February and it's only the end of April and everyone is expecting a show to be up, running and finished?

For a start he had to relocate back to the UK. You know tie up all the lose ends in New Zealand, househunt, get all that sorted. He wouldn't even come back to Britain if he didn't have stuff on the table. He could write the bloody book sunbathing with the sheep in Wellington.

So the very fact that he has uprooted and moved back to Britain clearly must indicate that he's going to be doing something. Why else come back to a £1.4m tax bill?

But IF there is anything lined up it'll take a while to get sorted. He only arrived in the country this week so in reality his "comeback" only really starts this week.

It takes MONTHS for something to go from an idea to a TV show. I'd be suprised if anything was sorted before the autumn.

I'm sorry I seem to forget they all seem the same

There's really no need to make cheap jibes at other forum members like that.

I wish I could see what people saw in Michael Barrymore. Plus it would be interesting to see who else Barrymore fans admire on BB6 and CBB4. Just out of curiosity like.

I would have said that if he was sensible he'd not expect anything atall really. Just come back, find out he wasn't despised or not (which he wasn't) and then go back home whatever happened.

I wish the guy all the luck in the world. I think he is a very talented man, all be it when he is not doing really bad impressions. I dont know if he will ever be able to get back his career because as they say "mud sticks". Could he ever return to the way he was seen by the public, i very much doubt it. Im not sure of how on the whole he was seen by the public whilst in BB, but i would never wish him harm
