Two houses are better than one!
It's a regular rumour - so I thought I'd look at how it could be done!
Yes, it's back to the two houses idea - and as in the third Australian series, I'm basing it on two identical "poor" houses merging into one rich house. Pre-merger: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...ther/seven1.jpg Post-merger: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...ther/seven2.jpg I've explained most things on the plans - it's basically two identical houses completly seperate, with fake walls blocking of the central wing which links the two houses. When the fake walls are removed, a kitchen, bathroom and pool are revealed! Here is a rough run down of how things would pan out: Weekly shows: Saturday 9-10pm: the live task show returns, with Friday's pre-eviction highlights incorporated into the show. Sunday: 9-10pm: highlights from Friday night and Saturday Mon/Wed/Thu: 10.00-10.50pm: Daily highlights Tuesday 9.00-10.00pm:Live nominations announcement, including highlights from Monday (inc noms) Friday 9.00-9.30 / 10.00-10.50pm Eviction night - highlights in the first show, with the eviction build up, eviction announcement and interview in the second. Big Brother 7: Double Vision Launch Thursday 18 May: Day 1 The two houses - known as the East Wing and the West Wing - are revealed to the viewers on launch night, with seven housemates set to move into each one. The show runs for 13 weeks (93 days). No eviction in week one. One change to the rules (bought in from Australia again actually) would be the introduction of fines for rule breaking. These would be £1,000 off the £250,000 jackpot for each rule break. Saturday Challenge: It's a basic budget of £1 per person per day while they are in the two houses - but one house will lose that and go down to just staples. In the first few task shows the two houses go head to head (though don't interact with each other), with the best performing household winning. Subsequent challenges will give HMs the opportunity to win back money lost in fines. The HM who had the highest fines tally would face their own individual challenge for that amount - with the rest of the HMs facing a second challenge for the remaining fines money that week. Any money not won back is lost forever! Double Eviction In week two it's a double eviction. Nominations take place seperately in each house, with two (or more) nominees from each house facing the public vote. The nominees are revealed live in Tuesday nights show, while on Friday the nominee in each house with the most votes is evicted. The Swap After the nominees in each house are revealed in the live Tuesday night show in week 3, there is a twist. One nominee must leave each house immediately - and move next door! On Friday night there is just one eviction with only the nominee with the overall highest votes leaving. The Merger After nearly four week the two houses merge on day 27 in the live Tuesday night show. The remaining housemates are locked in their bedrooms while fake walls are removed to reveal the pool, kitchen and bathroom linking the two houses. Each house would have nominated on Monday as usual, with the results revealed soon after merger on Tuesday. This week only the one nominee with the most votes in each house will face the public vote. The return You may have worked out that alot of twists seem to occur on Tuesdays. With Big Brother partnered with Lost on Tuesdays, it makes commercial sense to make Tuesday night a big night in the Big Brother house. After the eviction in week 4, the lines would open for the public to vote back in one of the first four evictees. Unlike John in BB4, this time the evictee would be back in the game and eligible to win. On Tuesday in week 5 (day 34) the evictee would return. Nominations in week 5 would return to the usual format - and it be interesting to see if HMs remain loyal to their original houses. The Newcomers By week six it's time for the traditional mid-season boost of newcomers arriving in the house. Guess which day they arrive? Yes, Tuesday. With ten housemates already in, Big Brother sends in two fresh faces. There is a twist though - the newcomer who gets the most nominations next week will automatically be evicted, with the other newcomer immune from next weeks eviction. The losing newcomer will be evicted on the Tuesday (in week 7, day 48). Big Brother's Bribe In week 9, with eight housemates remaining there is a twist to the nominations. The HMs are called to the diary room as usual - but instead of being asked for nominations they are offered increasing cash bribes (say £1000, £2000, £5000, £10000) to win immunity for themselves and put all the other HMs up for eviction. Whoever accepts the lowest bribe wins immunity. Running low on ideas for twists in the final weeks (I'll probably come back to them later) - but basically evictions continue weekly until there are FOUR housemates in the final week (5 is too many IMO). Alot of these are ideas borrowed from abroad - notably Australia and in the case of the bribe, the USA, - though I have tried to add my own twist to proceedings! One thing I like about this is it provides a massive change to the series - but with each "back to basics" house operating independently initially, in many respects it also goes back to the core format of Big Brother. |

Brekkie Boy, are you the one who was on BBLB and BBBM for BB6, that one who'd do small reports, I think he was doing a degree in the show or something!

Wow, what a series that would be!
You should seriously apply for a job with channel4/endemol! |

I wish BB would hurry up and do the 2 houses thing, just to end these posts. How long have there been rumours of 2 houses? since BB4!

I'm not too sure. Making it two houses would sort of take away the "box" feel of the show.

It does away with the whole concept of the original format though. It was supposed to be about how total strangers would interact with one another, in a confined space.
Having said that, BB has long ago lost it's original format.

unless the viewer has the option to flick between the 2 houses, or different cameras, then all you would see is whichever one the producers decide to show at that time.....

I HATE the two houses idea. I HATED the divide in BB3. It's the WORST idea going.
What I would like to see is a fusion between Big Brother and "The 1940s House", with HMs living (for part of the series perhaps) in a wartime-style house with rationing and air raids and Vera Lynn on the speakers. |

I'd argue though it very much goes back to it's original format of strangers interacting with each other - though with the twist that we're watching two houses instead of one. The two house twist would be so big that the need for other twists in the first few weeks would be minimal - allowing the original format to play out, though in two seperate houses. Agree though if they did it they would need to bring back the interactive feeds so you could choose which house to watch. |

Personally, I wish they would stop trying to muck about with it so much.

I'd like some sort of "Time travel" house - with the house beginning in the biblical ages, then each week moving in time through medivevil, Victorian, Wartime etc. so in the last week we're in the future!
