Is the whole Dawn BO thing to do with race? - Big Brother

The thing is, it's long been accepted that diffferent ethnic groups do smell differently to each other - The Japanese apparantly are known to complain about the smell of Caucasians (white folk

)because they smell of dairy or milk.

I'm sure I've also read something about afro carribean smell being stronger in certain chemicals. So it's possible that the other housemates are just being overly sensitive to the "BO" that Dawn has because it smells different to their own.

To be truly honest, the over the top reaction from Nikki in particular and from some other girls makes me feel like they need a slapping. No consideration for Dawn's feeling at all.

Anyway, just some thoughts.

Yeah thats what my mum was saying. I wonder if Nikki doesn't realise or maybe is doing it on purpose..

No I don't think it is racist, but if they had some guts, they would pull her aside and tell that they understand and offer her some deoderant. Or she should go into BB and ask for some if she needs a special type.

I think Nikki was the main protaganist and she's was just being her usual whiney self (ie not racist). If she smelt that badly, they wouldn't sit near her or let her cuddle them or they wouldn't have massages or eat near her etc.

It doesn't matter what race you are; as long as you wash yourself properly you shouldn't smell. BO is the smell of stale sweat i.e. unwashed pits nad/or unwashed clothes.. if you work outside then fair enough, but in an enclosed environment, it's deeply unfair on everyone else and therefore someone should say something.

I don't think they have all jumped on the bandwagon because she's a black woman. I just wondered if that made her BO less tolerable to some of the girls...

It has nothing to do with race, anyone can get a bit of BO if they dont get washed,people need to stop looking for the most ridiculous things to happen so they can blame it on racism, im sure nikki would be kicking up a fuss if any of the other housemates smelled bad, it has nothing to do with dawn being black.If it did then Nikki would have said "Dawn smells because she is black, and I dont like black people".Im yet to hear her say that though

One house, a passel of cameras and microphones watching, listening and recording every second of every day...but no smellovision. Guess we'll have to have to rely on the commentary of Nikki for information on all odour related news.

I do know white people at work who honk the place out and black/brown people who honk the place out, but usually it's the latter that are complained to management about.
