Matt Di Angelo (Deano Wicks in EE) and Danny Young (Warren Baldwin in Corrie)

I can't decide which one of these is the more crap character and bad actor. Danny was axed after a year in Corrie as Warren Baldwin

so if I read a headline in the coming months that ''Matt Di Angelo as Dean Wicks is following in Danny Young's footsteps is axed due to poor acting I would be very pleased indeed. It is obvous he was only cast for his looks and not acting just as Danny Young was.

Danny Young was definately worse, although Matt's pretty bad too. Was Danny actually axed for the poor quality of his acting?

p.s. I'd be grateful to everyone if they posted their views on Matt Di Angelo on the "Deano - any fans?" thread.

I don't like either of them, although Matt Di Angelo is definitely the worst out of the two by some measure.

Bradley Walsh really seems to ham up his accent.

Sorry, I'm not properly awake right now... I thought we were talking about Bradley Walsh's character.

Every time I see his name I think of the old kids show 'Mike & Angelo'! He is a bad actor.

i dont think Matt di Angelo is that bad, nor any of the other EE cast. i never comment on actors and their acting as who am i to judge, fair enough if i was doing the same job as them then i could comment on their acting ability but i havent got the right to say 'he or she is crap' as i have never worked on the set of EastEnders and have never experienced what it must be like to learn lines, act the scenes correctly and all the long hours they must work.

its just like a non-driver saying to me 'oh you can't drive' - if you havent done it yourself you are no one to judge. and plus we only see what the producers and directors want us to see, they write the scripts, not the actors

I have worked as I a Director on various TV programmes and to be totally honest, I cannot decide whether Matt Di Angelo is a bad actor or just a really badly written character.

He was obviously brought in to the programme as eye candy but I feel the character needs a storyline where he isn't camping it up or having a go at 'humourous' storylines which, let's face it, isn't Eastenders strongest point.

Perhaps give him a girlfriend (or boyfriend!) and script some real angst for him to act out as his current 'lovable rogue' guise really isn't doing the actor justice.

totally agree with what you are saying, and this is not just Matt but some other members of the cast. you think they are bad actors but they havent really been given a chance to show their stuff. obviously if you are given a minor storyline you cant make it a big one by going over the top, the producers have to give you the opportunity to show your acting skills.

When Lacey Turner (Stacey) first started out at EastEnders, she wasnt given a big storyline and i can remember people on here saying she was rubbish. a few months down the line, she has been given several big storylines and she bags the best actress award and so she should!, she is great.

so really it is down to the producers and creators of the show, you cant always blame the people acting the characters

Almost all the criticism of Stacey was the character ( thieving etc), not the acting

A bit of both, I think.
