Portobello road market

Over priced crap or what?

I went there a while back and it is just crap would find in a charity shop just triple the price.

Has anyone here shoped there and got a decent bargain?

I'd have to choose 'what'.

The Oxfam bookstore is wonderful, and some of the stalls, especially at the northern end sell great one-off clothes.

Yep I like some of the clothes stalls too but you have to be willing to wade through a lot of junk to get to the good stuff.

If you go near Portobella Green over on the left - there is a part which is more of a bootsale - that is the part I visit. It's cheap aswell.

I checked it out while on holiday in London, and while I didn't actually buy anything from the stalls or noted their prices for that matter, the Oxfam bookshop on that road was awesome ... very good value for money and I'm only sorry I couldn't buy more due to strict luggage weight limits.

Me too. I love it... can wander round for ages, as with Ppitalfields and Alfie's market too.
They certainly beat down n' out Camden anyday.
