Cash Vouchers From Ford

This weekend our local Ford garage sent us £1000.00 in vouchers to use at any Ford garage towards a new or used retail car. They have said if we can't use them we can give them to friends or family.

We have Ford but don't intend on replacing it this year. The vouchers have to be used by the end of July 2006.
When we read the letter i was expecting one of these fake looking cheques for £1000.00 but no it is in proper vouchers in £20, £50 & £100's.

Does anyone have any ideas how we could use them that would make us some easy money? We thought about selling them on Ebay - sell £1000 of vouchers for say £600 then the person gets £400 free and we get £600 cash. Or we thought about buying a used car for £1000 and then selling it straight away?

So you think these would work. The vouchers have serial numbers but the numbers on every vouhcer are the same.

If the garage is sending them out to people, then somehow I don't think anyone is going to *buy* them. It's all just a bit of marketing to make you think that your getting something for nothing, but with car dealers (especially main dealer), a car with a sticker price of £6,000 would be expected to go for £5,000 anyway (after the bartering). They will no doubt claim that redemption of the vouchers is only against the sticker price.

Garages aren't noted for giving away £1,000 of profit

You obviously got them because Ford are doing a promotion and you are on your local dealer's database; since they don't specify that it must be you that uses them, all they want is for people to come flocking in for a Ford..............I'd go the E-bay route, but check first that thousands of others aren't doing the same thing

That's cos they often don't have £1000 of profit to give away!

Trust me, these days dealers don't stick 6 grand in the window expecting to get 5.............
