Worst. Episodes. Ever. - C4's collapsed 'hammock

Now I know they schedule these programmes way in advance, but I think tonight may have been a disaster for C4 as it tried to give a ratings boost to Gordon Ramsay's F Word (did it do that well in its first series?) by using the common scheduling practice of 'hammocking' it between two episodes of one of its banker shows.

Problem is, I don't think even C4 would have expected that Big Brother would be hitting its nadir as far as entertainment value is concerned. To put up a hammock you need two strong trees, not the flimsy bamboo canes we had tonight. What do we get instead? Another night, another "special treat "party, then off to bed early (how I long for the days when housemates suffered a bit on basic rations and had overnight tasks to do !)Endemol should have seen the way things were panning out this week and delivered a strong show this evening. There's one of the poorest Holland v Argentina clashes on ITV and not much else elsewhere, so they would have cleaned up in the the ratings. The truth is they've pissed off a lot of BB fans tonight.

Ah well, at least the dog got its walk early...

Very true but you've also got to remember that Davina, Dermot, Russell or the magazines etc never actually said something was going to happen.

I think it was all the rumour and speculation here on DS:BB that got everyone excited (including moi ), plus that some tabloids seemed to have "insider info" in their listings, suggesting something was happening tonight.

Then the big let-down - another highlights, but just split in two.

At least in the 1st half, Lisa was bleeped out most of the time

What are they waiting for - August? The last viewer to turn off.

Still no George replacement, no OZ swap. no second house, no HM going back in. All 3 big stars out and the potential winners fed up by week 5.

It died as they rolled the credits on Grace's highlights and all they have done since is to dress the Hm up in some bright outfits

Fair enough but they could of at least set the record straight and told viewers the real reason why they split the show in two. Even a mention by Dermot or something. But no, they realise how pathetic it would sound to say 'We're splitting tonights BB in two because we want to get high ratings for The F word' If it sounds that stupid to say and broadcast then why do it?

Even while watching BBBM I can tell what I'll be seeing on the "highlights" over the next couple of days - some kind of pathetic dance-troupe task.

ratings were prob low tonight for BB because people like me tuned in at 9pm and wondered why it was only on for a half hour. then when looked at my EPG saw that i had missed the first half hour show at 8.30am. Prior to 9pm i was watching When Harry Met Sally.

Stars? I was under the impression the house was full of wannabes. Dreary ones too.

I read BB has a new producer this year and a new task manager. They need the sack.
