"Hen, cock or goose?"
Right, someone please, please tell me I've not made this up!
When I was at primary school, when it was someone's birthday, I distinctly remember some charade whereby the birthday boy/girl's hair would be tugged three times by a group of friends, accompanied by the question, "Hen, cock or goose?" I can't remember exactly how the patter went, but the initial response would be "Hen", to which the group would shout "Do it again!" and repeat the action. The second reponse was...well, I can't remember that bit, but the third time (goose) the group would shout "Let loose" and....erm....that was it. Stupid, yes, but I'm sure it was real. Does anyone else recollect this japery? It was like a poor version of birthday bumps. |
