Rowridge problem or Construction blocking

I've had problems over the last few weeks with signals from Rowridge..

sometimes its the ITV1 Mux - tonight its BBC1 and the one that carries CBBC.. (as my son has just screamed out!)

Now..I'd put that down to weather / or transmitter problems - if it werent for the fact that a near by construction site have just erected 2 very large gantry cranes..and depending on where they are parked I (seem) to get different signal problems

Or is this a red herring?

I think you might have answered your own question there.

Just wanted to verify my thinking... am I being paranoid or is there a problem other people are getting from Rowridge.

Look out for trees this time of the year. Public enemy number one when it comes to receiving a UHF signal.

The trees come into leaf, and cause all sorts of problems which vary day by day dependant upon their reflectivity or dampness.

The tree could be some distance away, but if it is only slightly impairing the clear line of sight to the transmitter it will cause problems.

The conditions will change again in October when the leaves fall and you are left wit the new bare branch that has grown through the summer.

But please do not cut the tree down, rather get a competeant aerial dealer to re-position your aerial into a clear line-of-sight again!

I've been having problems receiving BBC channels from Rowridge for the last few days. No signal at all.

Me thinks its more likely to be a transmitter issue or the cranes... where I am the trees would have to be monstrous to get in the way!
