The year Jason Donovan and Jive Bunny had THREE number ones each.
The year the music died.

Madonna- Like A Prayer
The Bangles- Eternal Flame
Simple Minds- Belfast Child- the most pompous song of all time, but still good in this company.

And that's all you're getting!

My top five are as follows;

Kylie and Jason - Especially for you
Jason Donovan - Too many broken hearts
Marc Almond and Gene Pitney - Something's gotten hold of my heart
Madonna - Like a prayer
The Bangles - Eternal Flame

This has been one of the easier years to pick from - and the whole thing has been great fun.

1.- Kylie & Jason - Especially For You (guilty pleasure! )
2.- Kylie - Hand on Your Heart
3.- Soul II Soul feat. Caron Wheeler - Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)
4.- Sonia - You'll Never Stop Me From Loving You
5.- Lisa Stansfield - All Around The World

Bubbling under are Madonna, Black Box, and the NKOTB. /

*gulp* All are liked by me in equal measure.

(But Soul II Soul and Lisa Stansfield are DEFINATELY great classics! )

Soul II Soul and Simple Minds are the only ones worth a vote in there. OK - maybe Lisa Stansfield (who would have no career were it not for Coldcut, but there we go) as well.

BANGLES/ETERNAL FLAME
SOUL II SOUL/BACK TO LIFE

and two fillers
SIMPLE MINDS/BELFAST CHILD
