WHATM : Day 78 - Thursday 03/08/2006 - 6am to Midday

WHATM (What's Happening At The Moment) ... continued from >> here <<

Summary

Ch4 BB reports:
<< 20:57 - Make Mine a Snakebite
<< 21:47 - Varsity Blues
<< 22:34 - Come Here Often?
<< 23:14 - A Midsummer Night's Dream?

00:20 Mikey & Jennie playing pool alone
00:40 Ash has had a swig of Mikey's cider (she thought it was Glyn's) - she didn't relish an argument with Mikey, so she escaped to the BR
Susie in bed
Pete awake in bed
Richard awake in bed - Ash & Jen on adjacent spare single bed talking with him about marriage and contraception and stuff
00:48 Richard shushes Ash (he hears Mikey kicking off next door - [? with Glyn ?])
[Richards strong "Shhhh" was very unfortunately badly timed - I think he would have halted himself]
00:50 Mikey to bed [? pool match strop ?]
WHATM reports that Mikey had been counting the minutes down until pool time (00:15)

Imogen & Glyn playing pool alone talking Welsh <s/c>

01:00 Ash confesses her Mikey/Glyn cider incident to Jen (in the bathroom) ...
... worried that she may have implicated Glyn after he'd backed her up.
01:30 Ais & Jen to sleep in double bed after lengthy chat.

01:45 Glyn goes to BR to borrow something from Pete [? Pot Noodle ?] - Glyn gratefully hand-slaps Pete
Imogen & Glyn have a Pot Noodle each [s/c Welsh]
01:50 Imogen reciting bones of the body
02:30 Glyn & Imogen to bed
Pete wheezing a lot
03:00 All HMs asleep (including Pete)

Morning, folks

Teleported before I rambled. Hope it arrived intact. Keep the mug, not worth the carbon expense in return trip.

I mentioned yesterday that it seemed very surprising for Mawkey's betting odds to nose-dive and make him favourite for Friday's eviction over Susie (whose odds were very low).

The bookmakers adjust their betting odds to reflect the amount of money that has been placed on a specific bet so that they can cover the amount that would need to be payed out.
The bookmakers do not need to watch BB (or have an interest) to do that.

The bettings odds, of course, do not have any connection with the BB telephone/text voting.

Morning all That bloomin paper is obsessed with fixes so it is...I wish half the time it would get its story straight as well..calls it self the BB paper. ...anytime i've read it it tells us what has 'happened' in BB by someone who quite clearly hasn't been watching.....

anyway rant over ...its too early I am working from home today so may be popping in a bit .....

I don't know anything about the Daily Star but I'm pretty sure that Susie will be out on Friday.
[It suits me for Mawkey or Susie to go but, choosing one, I'd prefer M to leave]

Morning all

I see C4 are still trying to fan the flames of a Pete / Jennie romance with another news story about them (thanks for the link and summary deeb )

Did the flirting get to the cringe inducing heights of recent nights, or did they manage to maintain some semblance of dignity this time

I actually hope that Mikey goes,he has actually now had a row with everybody left in the house, including Pete(when he stood up for Nikki after the beergate). It is the way he thinks he is so inthe right and sorry to say the way he looks down on women when they dare to argue with him.

Morning all. Thanks for the update/summary Deeb. Brilliant as always. Coffee made and drunk here I'm afraid - part of the scramble to get up and out ... and now I'm at work!

Mikey is an idiot with all this arguing. You'd think he'd realise it does him no favours outside. But he did confess to having a hangover and on last night's H/L show. His face, when he was lying in bed in the morning, was green! Just like this without the smile ......

Ash's remark I heard on the live feed yesterday evening was interesting ... she was talking to Ims about how the HMs are all changing and people aligning themselves differently and cosying up to people 'we've been told are going to win'. Presumably Jayne talking about Pete ... So the whole house - as well as the GBP - knows Pete's going to win. Everything between now and Davina's final announcement is about the minor placings and who we manage to get rid of before the last day or so .....

Thank you for the great summary Deeb. Ready for breakfast now? All the usual fare available in 5 minutes. Not many around yet, are there. Have to get up early as car due in for service today (3,500 miles overdue!)

I saw BBLB last night and I am still recovering from Spewral. Has Michael been on any of the programmes yet? Don't want to see him either!

Aisleyne touched Mawkey's pint:

<< 00:23 Ch4 BB - Stop, Thief!

EDIT: Always up for a full English ... thanks, Sunshine
Michael has made several appearances with Spiral but, I guess, this time, he didn't want the association (or they've polarised over each others' Ash comments)

That is very true - and exactly why Suzie should go on Friday.

If she stays, the boredom and apathy levels will continue to go up (and the entertainment levels down). If Mikey stays, we get some more friction, interaction, shifting alliances and therefore interesting viewing.

EDIT: I mean, even Suzie is saying its boring now. How bad can it be?

Completely O/T, but so lovely and true - I wish Flitty could see it!

Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby

That SOmebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, "Normal," is history.

Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct

That Somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.

Somebody said being a mother is boring ......

That Somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.

Somebody said if you're a "good" mother, your child will "turn out good."
That Somebody thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.

Somebody said "good" mothers never raise their voices .
That Somebody never came out the back door just in time to see her child hit a golf ball through the neighbor's kitchen window.

Somebody said you don't need an education to be a mother.
That Somebody never helped a fourth grader with her math.

Somebody said you can't love the fifth child as much as you love the first.

That Somebody doesn't have five children.

Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her child-rearing questions in the books ........
That Somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose or in his ears.

Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery .

That Somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten.

or on a plane headed for military "boot camp."

Somebody said a mother can do her job with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back .
That Somebody never organized four giggling Brownies to sell cookies.

Somebody said a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married .. That Somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings.
Somebody said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home ....

That Somebody never had grandchildren.

Somebody said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her .
That Somebody isn't a mother.

Pass this along to all the "mothers" in your life, even if you are not a mother this is just too beautiful not to share!!

The poll on the Times Online BB Weblog has Mikey and Susie at 44% and 36% respectively. Perhaps there is still a chance that it will be Susie out?

Surely she can't escape again? Time for the house to become fun before it disintegrates altogether! She has been a drag for the whole time she has been in there so surely everyone else can see that she HAS TO GO!

Morning ils, you do have a point, but watching Mikey lose his rag is quite funny and will just get more and more heated - it would be good to see everyone nominate him next week!
