Biscuits in the past
Does anyone think that biscuits tasted better years ago or was it just my taste buds?
Can anyone remember a biscuit called'Skippy',they were quite hard with chocolate & they had really hard to undo wrappers. Also Gypsy Creams, they were chocolate with a choc.filling & had coconut in I think? I loved Royal Scots,I assume they were a thin shortbread equivalent to a digestive & also Lemon Puffs. All of these were lovely dunked. Has anyone else got memories of their favourite biscuits? |

Gypsy Creams!! I loved those. Abbey Crunch ~ can you still get those? I think you can still get Lemon Puffs.
Marks and Spencers used to do a chocolate biscuit that were thick thick choc on top and kind of like a digestive but with coconut. |

You can still get Lemon Puffs, the only place I can get them is Sainsburys!
My Dad worked in Jacobs Biscuit factory, I thought I was the luckiest girl in the world I can't remember any specific biscuits but I do know that Wagon Wheels were twice the size when I was a child

Lemon puffs were evil, they made every other biscuit taste of them in the tin

Bourbons are becoming less widespread these days I find.
Got some coming from Sainsburys tomorrow though.

I want a packet of lemon puffs now - very hard to get and only available in round biscuits now - used to be oblong !
I also used to love Lincolns - they were round, dry biscuits, about the size of a small digestive and had concentric circles of 'bobble' shapes on top - I always thought they looked like drain covers ! Very sugary - not seen them in years (after that description, I can probably see why !) |

I'd forgotten about Trio, they were nice too, and that advert!!! My favourite were Abbey Crunch too, I wish they still did them. I went to an elderly friends house about a year ago and she had a packet in her cupboard, I was raving about them and asking her where on earth she had got them. She looked at the label and they had gone out of date about 2 years before!!! She didn't know they were in there, bless her!!!

And does anyone remember the 'club' advert?? The song was something like 'If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join a club'. Still sing that whenever I see club biscuits!!! |

Lemon puffs are one of my favourites, Co-Op also sell them. You sure you haven't got bigger meaning the waggon wheels appear smaller. |

Everywhere sells Bourbons, we have no problems getting them from Tesco, Co-Op, Sainsburys, Asda, Lidl, Aldi, Kwik Save, Somerfield or Iceland, even the local shops. |

never could stand bourbons. Was always a fan of the custard cream. (although, they don't taste like custard so why are they called that?!)
