Pete - what everyone seems to have missed

I think we've all gathered by now that Nikki's cutesy-come-brat act is completely contrived to help her win the B-all-and-end-all that is Big Brother, and that her parasitic hold on Pete is nothing more than an even baser attempt at securing her win (even when he's cuddling her she has to stare at herself in the mirror).

However, it appears that everybody truly believes Perfect Pete is some naive saintly angel, put on this earth to save women from the clutches of heartbreak and monotony, like some warped Prince Charming, armed with his powers of sensitivity, observation, "cute weirdness" and above all, a big knob. Therefore, of course Perfect Pete deserves to win.

Sorry - it doesn't wash with me! I didn't take to Pete at the start, and I certainly did not fancy him (weedy little boys don't turn me on I'm afraid). Gradually he grew on me, as in comparison with men like Spiral & Mikey, he seemed more mature & respectful.

However, I noticed that despite all the whingeing about "clingy" women like Lisa and Lea, and wanting to "just be friends" all the time, Pete wasn't exactly practising what he was preaching. He couldn't take his hands of most of the girls in there and was constantly stuffing his face in their breasts (including Imogen who blatantly never fancied him), in the guise of some innocent baby monkey. Pete seemed to be at his happiest when nearly every woman in the house was after him and arguing over him, until Plan Lothario backfired, and creepy Lea took him seriously.

Not content with winning over Lisa, Lea & Nikki, he moves on to Aisleyne, who unlike the others doesn't need to fling herself at every available bloke to feel she has some worth. I don't know whether Pete genuinely fancied Aisleyne, as the Big Brain team seemed to think he did. His body language, long gazing looks and enthusiastic response to her snog would seem he did. In fact, he was more interested in a "repeat" as he put it with Aisleyne, than having anything to do with Nikki.

Several times over a good few weeks, Pete was trying to escape Nikki. He reluctantly snogged her in bed and then refused. He told Mikey & Glyn how he didn't fancy her (or anyone in the house) and how was he going to let her down "gently". There was no body language or chemistry and Nikki ends up crying on Jayne's shoulder about him and Aisleyne, pretending to give him "space" the week she left.

After trying his hardest (in his own pathetic way) at hinting to Aisleyne he still fancies her, and she rejects him (or fails to reciprocate), Pete has suddenly hinted to Jennie he fancies her! By now Pete has lost all his parasites and Aisleyne has rejected him - so Pete goes all quiet (starts nominating Aisleyne) and next thing I know it's because he's suddenly deeply in love with Nikki and misses her. Now we have to endure the Endemol creation that is "Pikki" and suddenly Smug Pete starts making nasty jibes at Aisleyne like the "Anti-Aisleyne" group, laughing at how she looks like Pete Burns, slagging off her audition tape etc

So Pete is so in love and never realised until Nikki left the house - what utter sh*t!!! When you live with someone day in day out, you know how you feel, because you know that person inside out. There also has to be a basic physical attraction. I noticed Pete has now assumed he is a winner and has upped the act to secure his win - "if you don't let me win, I won't believe in heaven, where my dead best friend is" - please!!!!

As for Richard. I felt sorry for Richard and found his bitchiness quite funny, but his 2-faced cowardice has really turned me right off! First she's "Horseface Grace", then "Grace is good", and then "I'm Grace I'm in your face". Somehow, Richard assumes we all love him, but he knows he can't beat Pete or Nikki, and so resigns himself to third place, by a*selicking them day & night, encouraging Nikki tantrums, purporting to be the cause of them getting together, and slagging off Aisleyne every chance he gets - "Oh I forced Aisleyne into letting you [Nikki] back in"!

I really want Aisleyne to win, but I know Endemol will fix it for Pete, like they've fixed the win every year, based on what they believe to be "politically relevant" at the time. Of course, they have to pay back £2m to callers so let's pile on the bias against Aisleyne and get the votes coming in.

EDIT: Yes I know this is very long!

im unsure what the post was about but mostly i just wanted to say that i was a staunch pete fan but since his just-add-water romance and love story with thikki-of-the-ditch-dragons....i have unceremoniously ditched him.

his recent revelations and god talk was even more nauseating.

pete will most definitely win....but he has no fan in me.

despite his talent and his ability.....its his simpering cowardice, his sudden love for the most vile creature on earth and his waffling about winning that has made me really think he is a bit of a faker....maybe he truly is a bit material....who knows. i cant be asked to bother with him.

It does not wash with me either. I was fooled by Pete for the first couple of weeks but now I can see right through him. Sadly the public is still fooled by Pete.

I lost the will to live reading this after the few first sentences, mainly because people keep posting the same rant about pete here, thinking they are the first person to spot it. They would be, if it wasn't the 200ish time in the last week somebody has started this topic...

Ultimately, I agree. Pete is in it to win it, and he's manipulating the public on that score. Which is fine, because it's the point of the show.

Maybe we can see what he's like and love him for it [or in spite of it]?

Soulreavver I read your post with interest and thanks for taking the time to write it. I think you're spot on about Pete particularly with regards to his behaviour with the women in the house.

Great post OP, apart from the last bit. Although I would rather (begrudgingly) that Ash won instead of Pikki or Pilchard

soulreavermm, I jolly well enjoyed that. I should explain that very long posts I tend to sing like it was Opera, which stops me from missing out bits or reading them twice, and I had fun doing that one

Yes it was rather long (no pun intended) but after hauling my tired eyes over this essay, red pen at the ready, I'd like to write 'see me' at the end, though I know we'll never meet, however, I think you can rest assured that Pete's (d)alliance with a certain skinny myxamatosis ridden bunny rabbit has cost him the title; he has lost my vote and many others no doubt as his taste in 'women' has told us something not foreseen about his character and tarnished it forever. I now think Aisleyne has a pretty good chance, and Endemol have lost their heroic 'victim' through overkill. We were beginning to tire of Pete's dull broodines and naive benign charm regarding the 'ladies' of the house, but watching him slurp and pant over Nikki has been like being forced to watch someone devour their own vomit.... not nice.

I agree totally OP . The other thing which seems to have escaped notice is that last night pete was telling Nikki he wanted her to win and that she deserved it more than anyone - shortly before tellling Richard that load of old pish about him having to win or else god doesn't exist. So he's not above saying one thing to nikki and thinking something entirely different. Of course people will say "I hope you win you deserve it most" to others while still wanting to win themselves but he is meant to be the unmaterialistic moral saint Pete of Big Brother isn't he?

Soulreavermm- bet you feel better getting that lot off your chestand saved a few others the bother of posting how they feel. I was never anti- Pete though I did feel the Tourettes 'masked' his real persona to an extent. Sometimes I think it was difficult to see past it at times. I agree about Richard too. I liked his wit but don't like the way he's been overdoing the nice guy bit this week. I'd have had more respect, for example, if he'd not given in to Nikki over the play. Glyn deserves to be up there with the winners in the final 3.

Ash was never my firm choice to win but no one else has had to cope with sh*t she's had thrown at her. When other HM's are down they get support, if they're stroppy they given in to her whims, if the need space they're given it. Ash hasn't been all sweetnes and light, but who would be under the circumstances? I don't want to sound rude, but the viewers who are utterly against Ash must prefer the 'actors', the attention seekers and the HM's who give little spurts of entertainment when they feel the need.

Aisleyne sussed Pete pretty quickly and from what I've seen I suspect she thinks he's gay and sponges off women emotionally but she is too considerate to push the point with him.

As for Pete suddenly discovering his "love" for Nikki, I put that down to a private chat with BB in the diary room. BB had to get Pete on side or putting Nikki back in the house would have failed even more dismally than it has.

For the other HMs, watching the whole charade must spell "stitch up" and I'm not surprised they've all more or less given up and are now just waiting for this wretched business to end.

Fantastic post. Agree with you completely... And the one thing that I strongly agree with you on is the Aisleyne thing... Out of all the girls in the house I think Pete actually fancied Aisleyne the most... (i think she fancied him a lot too) and they way he kept insinuating about her coming to Brighton etc....he's been the most comfortable around Ais and when he gets out and sees all the tripe that Nikki has been spouting behind her back, I think Nikki will get dumped faster than a hot potato.....
I dont dislike him that much but I dont think he deserves to win after the way he's been this past couple of days....

Great post! Ignore everyone who says "I couldnt be bothered to read it". They are probably the people we have to blame for Nikki being back in the house and who actually believe that Nikkie and Pete "love" each other. Keep up the good work!

Excellent post OP. I agree. Pete only started 'fancying' Nikki when she had left the house and he then realised that he would have no female drooling over him as the remaining ones didnt fancy him. Imo, this latest claim to love Nikki is for the sole reason of giving himself a storyline as he has only ever featured in the past 11 weeks HLs when either Lisa, Lea or Jennie were all over him.
