The "rocker" ( ) was a HUGE letdown I thought.

Me too, the image was great but the vocals didn't match the image.

The image was ok, but needed toning down a bit.

That's what I thought. Her voice was quite sweet but she didn't sound at all like I expected she would sound, given how she was dressed.

I dont get that Sandi Thom song - the lyrics are all about being a hippy...so where does the 'punk rocker' thing come into it??

She was talked up as being a 'rock singer', but there was nothing 'rock' or 'punk' about her performance, other than the words 'punk rocker' in the song.

LOL, its funny you should say that, I was only talking about it with my other half yesterday. I had heard the song but never actually listened to the lyrics until yesterday. I would've thought she was talking about a hippy!
Great lyrics though

It's a song about nostalgia for times past, as exemplified by both the punk era and the hippie era:

Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair
In '77 and '69 revolution was in the air
I was born too late into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair

Ah I see, thanks for clarifying that

That song still annoys the bejesus out of me, though. Punk rockers don't wear flowers in their hair. I see what you're saying, lulu g, but it's still irritating.

I liked Laura - I thought she was pretty and cool, and had a nice voice, but I wish she hadn't sung Sandi Thom.

.
Punk rockers championed anarchy, Hippies championed peace and love. So she was alluding to the fact she wanted to be a peacefull punk, i.e. experience both eras. I think its a great line!
