Martin & Sonia OR Sonia & Jamie?
Who did Sonia suit with more? With Martin? Or with Jamie?
I personally think it's Martin despite the whole lesbian storyline. What about you guys? |

Jamie, they had a proper connection, her and Martin never suited and it was totally disgusting after what he did to Jamie.
Never liked Martin and I did like Sonia up until him and Pauline caused the curse of my hate upon her (I also hated Mark, Lisa). Thank God by this time next year both will be gone ![]() So Jamie and Sonia |

I found it weird she would fall for her boyfriend's killer but then again this is soap.
I never really found the whole Sonia/Jamie story believable. It sounds mean but what did he see in Sonia when all she did was cry? Her and Martin and well suited and i actually want them back together. |

I never understood the Jamie madly in love with Sonia thing I didn't get her pairing with Martin either. I know its only a soap but seeing EE prides itself on gritty realism - the thought that both Jamie and Martin's character would choose to be with Sonia is pushing the envelope a bit too far.
Sonia( the character) maybe a lovely girl, caring , intelligent (compared to the rest of the younger characters in the square at least) but there is no way on god's green earth anyone who looked like either jamie or even martin would be declaring undying love for her... no matter how politically correct the script writers try to make it. |

Her and Jamie were good at the end, and her and Martin were good at the start. The rest of it was not so bad I guess.

What a question
![]() No contest whatsoever. Jamie is Sonia's one true love, no-one will ever compare. |

I dont know... For me, i think she's better to suited to Martin. Without sounding harsh, Jamie was too 'pretty boyish' for Sonia.

Jamie was almost as dull as Martin not sure why she picked any of them, other than the fact she proably wouldnt get anyone else. The most unbelievable thing about it is the fact that in real life she probably wouldnt have pulled Jaime. Not many teen lads or girls go for personality!

I liked her with Jamie but could never understand why she married the person that killed her "true love"

In both of the above cases, they were friends first. They built their relationships on that. It was relaistically done with Jamie having doubts but eventually realising they were definitely more than friends. Martin's afeection grew out of guilt and the way she was there for him when he hit rock bottom. Quite honestly, I don't know what Sonia would see in either of them. Jamie was far too pretty and Martin isn't anything special at all, to take the shallow route. However, Sonia was more of a mother figure to Jamie, always sorting out his problems for him and having to battle his hero worship for Phil. Martin is an overgrown mummy's boy who needs to grow up and fast. You date Martin, you date his mother. They were both a bit pathetic really. Sonia needs someone stronger, and I think, older. Of course you see "good looking" guys with plain old girls like Sonia and vice versa, but to add some realism to Eastenders they could make it a bit harder for someone like Sonia, or Martin for that matter to get a partner. Sonia isnt that attractive yet men and women appear to fall at her feet. Not only is she physically nothing special but her personality leaves a lot to be desired too, especially at the moment as she is selfish and over recent years has become a bit of a snob. Martin is no catch either though to be fair he walks around with a gormless look on his face and wont do anything unless his mum tells him too, but I still seriously doubt that the air head that was Jaime would have looked twice at Sonia. On the subject of imaturity it is kind of imature to take such offence at a remark made about a soap character, im not sure how to break this but there is no such person as Sonia Jackson/Fowler ![]() Judging my your other posts you seem to almost be in love with Sonia and she cant do any wrong in your eyes. What will you do when she leaves? Last edited by rubberymonkey2 : 05-10-2006 at 11:44. |

I will be gald when Sonia leaves, she has gone from a very nice character to a selfish character. She was in love with Jamie and that was quite moving at the end, she got together with Martin that was alright for a while until Naomi came on the scene then it was goodbye Martin hello Naomi. She only transferred her interests back to Martin when he got custody of Rebecca, then every time you saw sonia it was 'what about me me me!'.
Will be glad to see the back of them Sonia has been with enough people on the square including Gus. |

To me, I think Namoi was the best for Sonia. It would have been better if she came before Sonia married Martin.

Crikey, I was commenting on a character in a soap. Sorry to break it to you, but the world isn't a politically correct place no matter how often it appears to be in soaps. Yes you do see couples that are perhaps mismatched in the attractiveness/looks stakes - however for every one of those couples you see 100's of others that do judge on looks (not saying its right btw), thats just the way the real world works. So in soaps like Eastenders its perfectly plausible for the likes of Sonia to be a lust object for most of the people she meets, the same way someone like Billy ended up with Honey and does anyone remember Lyn being fought over by both Gary and Beppe ?!?!? - sadly it doesn't happen much in real life, we live in a shallow world - rightly or wrongly and soaps like EE are always lauding the fact that they are so realistic, so maybe in this case they would do better to show a more realistic portrayal of character who isn't the most attractive aesthetically. ![]() oh btw I am neither immature or have a problem with my eye sight, I do however live in the real world, which may make my opinion slightly different to yours.
