Our Opinions on the houses..
I know for many people the house design isn't important, but for me the setting has to appeal to me.
Here is my opinions on each of the houses, not that ur interested but some of you may just like to give your opinions. BB1 - Silver Millenium. The 1st BB so the house was just a 'lab', one colour throughout (blue). The appliances were simple, it had to be made cheap. The house good enough for the beginning of BB. BB2 - Cabin Fever. Keeping the structure of the walls the same, with the interior, decking, reds, oranges with soft lighting and a natural feel. I really enjoyed watchin the housemates in this environment, as it was pleasing to the eye and set a tranquil atmousphere, yet still provokin arguments. BB3 - Retro Warehouse. A new home for BB was found, with a completley new layout. This used to be my fav house. i liked the fact that it was big, with stainles steel, oranges, few greens, with grey stone panels. The retro look was great, however the studio was awful, clearly they ran out of money. BB4 - Cacoon - A great design, cosy, with soft rounded edges. When the house pics were released i remember reading that BB wanted the hm to get closer, encoureging love. This is wot they got, everyone liked eachother.lol. It didn't really have a BB feel to it, if u know wot i mean.Domed from the start. BB5 - FunkyHouse - LOVED THE SERIES, LOVED THE HOUSEMATES, LOVED THE HOUSE. Everything about this series was amazing. The house was a perfect setting for the evil themed bb. The jaggered edges, greens, blues, egg chairs gave it a funky look with the colours reflecting the colourful characters. The diary room chair was brilliant, like a womb. BB6 - I wasn't to keen on this house throughout the series, but that was probably because nothing was ever going to live up to BB5 for me. However, i now feel that this house was a great design. Once again it was very colourful, with yellows, blues, oranges and alot of white,. I didn;t like the seperate living are, however, i would have preferd it if it was so crapply plonked in the garden. It wasn't incorporated into the design very well. The garden was boring, and the outdoor bathroom was ugly. The main living area with the yellow and black kitchen and the mirrored wall, blue and pink wall and perspex table was wicked. Real funky space. BB7 -WOT HAPPENED HERE? this house was awful. Tacky. the inside out thing looked rediculous. I didn;t like the LED lighting, and the fact that all walls were mirrored. I dont like anything about this house. Dont have much more to say about this series. Favourite houses = 5 + 6 Future hopes for BB8 house = A colourful, funky, design, with modern crazy furniture. If anyone cares to comment please do. If people think this is a pointless thread, then dont bother commenting. Thank you for reading |

I used to love the BB3 house until I watched some of it back after BB4. It was a complete clutter of stuff, not like the airy, spacious ambience of the following year.

I think I liked the BB2 house the best with all the decking and the lighting was nice too. Maybe they felt it was a bit too comfortable for the Hms because the BB3 house was a colder looking design from what I can remember.
I liked the fact that the BB6 house had a separate lounge where they could get away from each other. This years house was a bit too cold looking and I didn't like the outside inside theme. |

The 'snug' thing or whatever it was called in BB2 was a great plan.

Elstree - the early years (BB3 & 4) were the best houses.
It's all too claustrophobic now, especially with more and more housemates being shoehorned into it. And what's gone wrong with the furniture design the last 3 years? It's just ugly to look at, and distracting; looks like a children's TV show set with all those garish colours. |

For me, the BB7 house has been the most difficult to watch, it was very hard to get a sense of direction and where things were with the inside out theme.
I'm in the middle of an extended dissertation on how the design of the BB houses affects the hms behaviour and the narrative of the series - so keep your comments coming

The BB7 house was the best, followed closely by the BB4 house

Loved the BB2 house. I know it was a bit basic but the house itself felt like it had as much character as the housemates. The snug, the wood and bamboo, the big, bright cushions, plants, the fire (task), the solar panels, - haha I loved it - I wanted to live there!
No other house has come close yet, although I did like elements of the BB5 house. The BB6 sofas were dreadful...like someone had tried to make roast a pumpkin and failed and as for the BB3 bedrooms *shivvers* I don't know what the BB7 design brief was but it looked really hotch-potch swirly Sindy house to me.

As to BB7 house; cheap and tacky 1990s MFI. The Dutch are doing it much better right now. |

Well, I can't remember the houses before BB5 so:
BB5 This is my favourite, it was really weird and confusing, but I liked the overall layout of the house. I liked the garden and jacuzzi area, and I also liked the bathroom. BB6 Didn't like this one.. I didn't like the pink and blue walls, or the glass bedroom, or the orange eyesore bedroom, and i hated the diary room chair.. yuck i hated all of it. BB7 The garden was awful (but that was down to the housepipe ban) but I loved the mental asylum style diary room with the gold chair, it was so retro.. The bedroom was alright I guess, but I didn't really like the garden area, and the bit where it joined the main house. |

I liked the layout of the BB5 house, with the bedroom in the garden but the colour scheme & furniture was awful. If I had to choose to live in one house it would be the BB4 one as it looked comfortable, spacious & airy

My personal fave was the BB4 house, it looked cosy and snug. Its the only one of the houses I think I'd actually want to live in. I liked the BB2 house as well.
The worst was BB7 it was hideous. Lots of tacky gold's and yellows. It looked like the set of a 1970's gameshow. Awful!! |

The BB4 house was a nice place to live - except the aircon in the boys' bedroom didn't work until the last week. Apparently somebody wired it in the wrong way around...

My favourite house has got to be the BB4 house:
This is the one house that I would like or feel comfortable to live in with the space, colours and seems most like a usual house. I liked that fact that BB wanted the housemates to be closer together to form more friendships. The colours were very nice actually. Despite the fact that I like multicolours, I personally would not like to paint my future house like that. But, it made the house have its own warm personality instead of the HMs having to adjust to there surroundings quickly. The BB4 house had already made the Hms at home. The shape of the house was also nice. If you remember, the Romans introduced the new rectangular, square shape of a home. But don't particulary like those kinds of edges; it makes it seem restricted. But with the round corners and space, it seemed quickly bubbly and more free. The diary room isn't my all time favourite one but I did like the furryness and spongeyness of the room and chair. Psychologically speaking, it would make a housemate more comfortable to speak to Big Brother. If you come BB4's DR to BB3's, this one is better. I just thought it was disgusting and tacky the way it said "BIG BROTHER" in the the DR with the eye (BB2's was clever because the eye was being camouflaged). It looked one of those DRs off of those celeb jungle shows. Yuk!

My fav houses were BB3 & BB4.
BB5 I didn't like the bunk beds and the bedroom seemed very small. The only good thing was the jacuzzi. BB6 the house was not bad, but the showers let it down by being outside. Not very nice if its raining. BB7 was just all the houses made into one. It was if they had run out ideas. This must have been the smallest bb house as I'm pretty sure they lowered the ceilings to make it fell more claustrophobic in there. |
